I run a 600w dimmable and had to dim to 400w several times this summer. Worked like a charm. We talked a little about it at 600W HPS - Light Mover - 3x4x7.5 Tent - LED Veg - Perpetual Pt. 2 . Post #51 is when I got it

i wanted to get digital greenhouse 600 watt dimmable light easy cool 6" but are out of stock (HTG) SAID 3 WEEKS so i waited 3 weeks passed tried to order light said out of stock they would have them in3 weeks so now going to check out another store 1 hr drive away

really like the galaxy select a watt. I can fire a 1k 600 or 400w bulb or dim a 1k or 600 down.

Wish I bought one last time I went digital. Wasted a lot of juice on seedlings this grow, but once they take off under the full light, watch out.

I got a 400 watt dimmable ballast last grow. I like being able to lower the heat if needed and its great for gradually introducing stronger light to young plants.

I've never been a big fan of dimmable; I don't see myself running my lights under full capacity. Is it only convenient when you want to use it for clones or seedling or when you can't totally control your temperature? I don't see other reasons to dim and for those reasons, I rather try managing those cases otherwise. Anyway, I'm still growing with magnetic ballast...

did you realize that when you dim an HPS bulb, it undergoes a 'blue-shift'? Meaning that the spectrum produces more blue light? Sounds like something good to me....
