delaying harvest

My little girls are just now going into flowering stage. If all goes as it should I will be out of state for 2 weeks just about harvest time. Is there a way to delay the harvesting of the plants until I get back

If u super crop ur main growth shoots this will slow down bud development as the plant will need to repair some of its injuries. This can/will put the super cropped plants behind (others) in flowering. I'm noticing this with plants in my grow now. This is just a suggestion based upon observation. This is not something I've tried for the purpose of intentionally delaying a harvest.

HP...you might try going back to a veg state. Assuming you are now in the halide/hps flower inducing stage, perhaps reverting to flouros on a 18/6? If the flower cycle has already begun it might slow down the process without catastrophic results. In other words, mimic the outdoor "cloudy days" when the sun isnt shining and plant growth slows. Although 2 weeks strait of cloudy days would no doubt be a lifetime! I suspect yield is going to be effected which ever way you proceed. Ironically, most folks either struggle to get to the bud stage or cant wait to get there. LOL The Bud Gods do have a sense of humor eh? peace n good luck MF

I'm not leaving for 5 weeks. what happens if I harvest 2 weeks late?
Your flowers will actually wilt. You will notice they will be a darker color too. Not a good idea. Bad way to ruin a great run IMO. You want to pull when they a "ripe". This is usually a 7-10 day window span give or take. Depending on when you normally pull (at the beginning of the span or the end will determine how much they will suffer during those two weeks. Hope this helps.

HP...wait a sec...if yer babes have already begun to flower and assuming you have them under serious flower inducing lighting and not floros, you could possibly have them finish before you leave. 5 weeks is a lot of time for flowering. If you up your phosphorus levels which you should be doing anyway you might be able to harvest a bit ahead instead of behind. If given the choice I would rather harvest 2 weeks early than 2 weeks late. At 2 weeks early you know they are still living, but if you leave and come back in 2 weeks, they might possibly be uh, dead? In other words, you might want to consider cutting your losses & go for the bird in the hand... Two thoughts here...Dont do anything till ya have to which is the same as wait n see where ya are in 5 weeks and worse case scenario, if ya take em a little early, 50% of something is better than 100% of nothin...peace n good luck MF

If there harvestable just before I leave I will not be able to give the little buds the tender loving care they need to have usable smoke.

ooh. dont know other than take them early. ive seen someone have a makeshift resivour for water , but that was a soil grow , and only for a few days. are you in soil or hydro? do you have a lighting timer?

see what the plants look like in 5 weeks then post a pic.make the call then, they may not be rdy in 5 weeks. If not go come back they will be done.

In 5 weeks if it looks like they will be way past their prime when I get back, I will donate them to some lucky member of 420 Magazine from near :adore::adore::adore:Sacramento so they won't go to waste.
