DC’s Roaring 20’s Perpetual Garden!

Yeah I had already decided next feed will be at 3.5, and am on the fence about whether to continue Calmag or not. I would like to just use MC on this grow if possible but that calcium spotting started movin fast!

She’s already up at 35”! This lights got some juice!

Bottom of the Third

Hey all another quick update. All is pretty well in the garden, some more of what looks like minor calcium def has slowed but is still creeping up the first set of leaves on a couple plants but I ramped up to a nice full soak at 4g/gal of MC yesterday so we will see how that does. Otherwise they are growing well and nice and green! I think I will top and start the quad lines later this week.

Don’t have much else to report, it’s been a crazy week with this pandemic and panic continuing. I work at a nuclear plant and manage a few crews so it’s been extra strenuous laying people off, rushing to complete critical work and managing peoples concerns without any real idea of what is next myself. To add to it we have 3 kids at home and my girlfriend works as a scheduling manager at a long term care facility that just found 4 positives for Covid-19. I expect that to leap exponentially now that they’ve administered more tests around the homes.

We also found out last month that she is pregnant! Amazing news for us as we were trying, we both want a big family and a child between us to tie our blended fam together. It definitely blows to have a virus pandemic going on around what should be a happy time for us but we will make the best of it. Many people have it much worse.

In lighter news the plant of the month contest is heating up and my TO Cookies girl is killing it! Gonna be an exciting finish!

Hope everyone is staying safe especially those at risk. Thoughts of looking back and retelling stories of this time keep me reminded we will all get through it, it’s just a matter of how long.

Congrats on the baby in the way!
Congratulations DC...Im sure all will be good...
Congratulations on the pregnancy deecee! That’s amazing! Fuck all this bad news around us! That’s amazing news brother!!

scary to hear there was so many cases at her work. Stay safe out there man!
Great news on the pregnancy DC! I would think no one working in the power industry would be getting laid off since we need electricity to keep Netflix streaming :hmmmm:

Plants are looking good. Looking forward to the top of the 4th!

Thanks 420 squad! I’ve joined up with a local volunteer group that brings supplies and medications to people on quarantine or at risk and self isolating and this weekend I started delivering bud from my last harvest to pals and families mailboxes that are isolating so the updates will get sparse here for awhile between all of that and keeping 7 plants alive!

I’ve always felt guilty about a lack of donating or volunteering and been wanting to do something for awhile now but always let a busy life be an excuse. This week I’ve decided it’s time to finally step up and make some good out of all this.

Top of the Fourth - Day 23

Hey everyone as usual hope everyone is staying safe out there and in good health, especially those at a higher risk!

Tuesday night on day 22 all the girls got the firststep to their quad lines. I did a little experiment to compare the differences in topping and stripping the bottom two nodes in the same day, OR only stripping and then topping a few days later. The reason for this is some say if you stretch the stress of the operation out a bit it doesn’t slow the plant as much. Others say getting it all over with in a single go doesn’t keep theunder stress for as longI figured I would try both and see if there is indeed any difference.

Wonder Woman
All three girls got stripped of the growth tips and leaves at the first and second node. I left the tops on until later this week.

Blueberry, being a few days younger was left alone. She is a pure Indica so I think I’ll be letting her grow a littler taller and top higher or even just bend the stem straight over without topping. I had great results on one of myplanta last run using that technique. She even produced more than the topped and traditionally quadlined plant.

In some non grow related news... apparently my two kittens have no idea about the toilet paper shortage in the country right now......

Hi DeeCee ☀️ they are looking great. Can't wait to see, how your little experiment turns out. I love experimenting like that. I would love to see you bend the Blueberry one, that would be interesting to follow alongside the quadlined ones. Have a good day and take care ☀️

Early observation is leading me to believe doing it all at once is better. The topped Strawberry Cream plants have been busy growing out the two branches on the topped node meanwhile the untopped Wonder Woman plants, while overall larger still seem focused on continuing upward growth. The branches on the top 4th node are considerable smaller. I believe by holding off on the topping I’m just allowing the plant to expend energy on growing what I am going to be cutting off anyway.

Im going to top today and we will see over the next week if this result changes.
