Just managing to get back here DC, and I'm sorry to hear about the mold troubles after your harvest. Mold is one of the reasons I wet trim, so I can go over every single bud at harvest. It also allows me to looks for caterpillars or any other critters looking to nosh after chop. Last summer was a bummer with the amount of botrytis I found in my plants.

If you want to quickly lower the RH in a jar, I'd recommend rice balls. It's fast and efficient and takes out the guesswork because you can practically watch it happen.

Hey everyone hope you are all doing well despite this crazy upside down world we are living in right now! *Glances down south to Merica*

Turns out having a baby when you have 3 kids already is a lot of work. Then throw colic and acid reflux into the mix. And like I know a lot of people say oh my baby had colic, but I’m talkin like 8-10hrs a day of constantly coddling a ticking time bomb that can go off for even the slightest movement! Needless to say we pretty much smoked all of our weed from the last grow but after 4 months he seems to have found his chill. Oh but also throw another lockdown/quarantine and homeschooling 3 pent up kindergarteners aka the first layer of hell into it. And I got a promotion for a marginally higher paying position with a significantly higher workload yay! Good news is if I set up a strong team I should be able to step back and work less for the higher pay.

Anyway, enough about me!

I didn’t realize how much I missed growing until I started my crop back up after a couple idle months. Let me resummarize the setup!

Lights: 1x 300w Mars tsw2000 and 1 tsl2000
Exhaust: Infinity S6 6”
Tent: 5x5
Fans: 10” oscillating ground fan, two small clip on fans above canopy
Medium: Promix BX with added perlite (couldn’t find HP at the time)
Nutrients: GH flora trio with Calmag
Strains:

Wonder Woman Hybrid
The top strain from my last grow, this girl made massive, dense nugs that knocked everyone’s socks off. This is my last seed so I will be making a Bonsai mother From a clone.

Bruce Banger- Mostly Sativa
A gift from fellow 420 grower @KingJoe83! After seeing how his turned out I’m super pumped for this one!

White Widow - Mostly Indica
Had to get this classic strain from my youth in there. In my area every so often someone would come around claiming they had white widow and if it was a reputable dealer it would be killer, lots of fakers though, now I get to grow it myself legally, god bless Canada!

Critical Mass CBD - 1:1 Mostly Indica
My first foray into CBD leaning genetics.Looking forward to a relaxing night time before bed supplement and may get into making tinctures or creams, prolly look up @InTheShed for this!

Trainwreck - Hyrbid
I was at a grower friends house I met through another friend. Much like myself growing pot turned into a favourite hobby for him leading to grow and veg areas and a sea of mason jars filled with the sticky. After sampling some of this at his house I raved enough about it he gave me one of his plants. Very excited for this heavy hitter!

Here’s the girls now, 2 weeks into flower, ready for a haircut!

Theres a lot to catch up on, but this is enough for now! Stay safe and stay high friends!

So now that you guys know what's going on inside the tent here's a preview outside the tent, welcome to my oasis!

Here you see the 5x5 tent with my res beside it. In the corner is my rack for gardening supplies, my folding chair for chilling and a laundry sink I put in which had been KEY!

Here's the work station - an old TV stand, some random organizer baskets for my tools and supplies and my jars peeking over the Trippy giant wave picture I still need to hang. Eventually I will insulate all the walls and hang some drywall.

Here I converted a resin rack into a clonging/mother plant station I just recently rigged together. 2x 18” T8 lights zip tied to the underside of a shelf are keeping the clones happy and my old original cheapie blurple light keeping my Trainwreck mother content. I have to figure out where all these clones are gonna go! I lent my electrician buddy my 3x3 setup in exchange for free labour to wire my basement up. I don’t think the tent will fit anyway so I’ll just openly veg in this room when I get the nextlight core I won in my POTM contest back.

Yes I went from nothing to...a lot... But I love it. Growing is such a relaxing and fulfilling hobby and I save a ton on weed and have plenty of skilled trades friends to barter their services with pot!

No I got the light right away after the win actually but during my hiatus a friend of mine, after seeing me in action, wanted to get his own setup. Since I was drowning in children at the time and had an entire 3x3 setup sitting idle I gave it to him to try out before he bought anything. He’s just finishing his girls up and I’ll get the light back for my clone army AND get my basement wired up labour free now since he’s an electrician and owes me one!

Bloom Week 4

In cruise control so far, the stretch is done, 3 week canopy cleanup completed and not a deficiency in sight. It isn’t all rosy though, 3 of 5 plant barley stretched at all which for most people would be good but for me I seem to always grow very squat plants so I have no chance at those 18-24” colas of yore! I think next run I will be leaving my lights higher, these @Mars Hydro 300w lights are no joke. White Widow stretched perfectly though and ended up exactly high enough to maximize the space!

Secondly I have been battling the dreaded WPM! The Trainwreck plant I got from my buddy came with it but I thought quarantining it for 2 weeks and dousing it in Fungicide would’ve done the trick. When I brought her into the tent she hadn’t a single spot on her for a week but I guess a spore or two survived, bided it’s time and then spread out a couple weeks ago. The good news is I caught it early and have been inspecting and plucking any leaves on the daily that have it as well as bi weekly sprays with Defender Fungicide. I also have a 10” ground fan moving air down low and two clip ons above the canopy AND cranked up my exhaust fan. RH is steady 30% +- 4% which isn’t ideal for growth but also not ideal for WPM. All in all it isn’t too bad so far, but I know better than to get cocky.

Here’s some budlet shots!

The clone squad is doing swell in their Promix organic soil with just plain water. My bud is coming by on Tuesday to help me plan out my basement electrical and he’s bringing my NextLight. Next weekend I will uppot them into 1.5L pots into whatever organic medium I end up going with and start vegging them. That would leave about 4 weeks of flower and a week of dry so 5 weeks until the tent is open which is perfect! I’m pumped to give organic growing a try with these girls!

Momma Trainwreck isn’t doing so hot. I am gonna have to do some reading on how to maintain a bonsai, it doesn’t appear I’m doing it right lol! I was feeding early veg strength nutrients but looks like she needs a little more. I tried a B52 foliage spray to help with the stress and upped her nutrients a bit and it looks like she’s doing a little better since.

Sorry to hear about the PM, but I'm glad you're getting a handle on it. Funny thing about that Defender Fungicide is that citrus oil is the active ingredient, but under "Inert Ingredients" they list citric acid first, which is the only thing in my PM spray .

I decided the best approach is to just make a new mother every year (or less) and not worry about trying to keep a plant that small. I'd grab some clones off the Trainwreck just in case it goes south before you can save it.

how does the citric acid work? I found more WPM today than any other day before, still only traces of it and about a handful of leaves overall but a sign that this battle won’t be easily won, is I step off the gas on treatment and defoliating it will be waiting! Week 6 I will do a heavy defol to open them up and reduce leaf contact points. Just need to balance that with also leaving enough leaves to ensure the wpm doesn’t claim all of them

Good call, actually I clipped a couple overreaching branches when I cloned the other plants and decided to just put them in rapid rooters for fun. They’ve been sitting in them for like 3 weeks, same age as the clones almost without a single root. Shows how much the dome and heating pad do. Weird though the leaves are still green as can be and clones upright and all I’ve ever done is just re-wet the rooters with tap water.
