Dauzers Flood & Drain HID Cheese

New grow, new journey .

So with this setup I’m running flood and drain under 3x 600 HIDs in a 2.4m2 tent

Plants: Big Buddha Cheese Fem

Lights: 3x 600w Air cooled

Grow system: IWS 12 Pot Pro Flood and Drain

Medium: Gold label 80% Hydroton 20%Coco and a little extra coco on the top (I ran out of gold label mix )

Nutrients:
Veg - AN Sensi Coco A&B, CalMag, Voodoo, B52, Carboload, H&G Roots Excelurator, Great White

Flower: AN Sensi Coco A&B, CalMag, Voodoo, B52, Carboload, Bud Candy, Sensizym, Big Bud, Piranha, Overdive and a little Bud Blood to kick them off for the first two weeks.

On my last 2 grows I used nearly all the AN line and most of the bottles I had left over. I’ll be moving away from AN after this

So, I didn’t really have time to start the journal when I started the grow so forgive me for jumping into week 4 of veg
(you will have missed my teething problems)

I just changed the res last night starting week 4 18/02

I added all the above for veg, we ended up at 2EC and 6.5pH. I added some pH down and it’s m sitting nicely at 5.4

I done a FIM with them all last night and tied down the main stems. I may have left it a little too late, I was hoping to flip them next week but we shall see.

EC dropped to 1.9 and pH stable at 5.6 after the frst feed of the leaner nutes

They were slow to take off due to my stupidity but thanks to Cult, I increased the feeds and they seem to be loving life again.

Please join along for the ride and feel free to chime in if you see I’m doing anything wrong. Im still learning the ropes with hydro. Any input would be more than welcome .

Just check the the bluelab this morning before lights out

EC has stayed the same at 1.9
pH is up to 5.9
Water level is down about 20L

Last night

This morning

Is there a formula for working this out I wonder? They seem to be drinking more water than taking up food. But then if the water level drops it would make the nutrient mix stronger therefore keeping the EC the same? Mmmm

Going to get in there later and tie some more branches down

You want something in here to help buffer your food intake like z7 ?

Yeah the EC is high I put a bit too much in, my bluelab guardian is a little slow to give correct readings while mixing so I ended up on the higher end. Although I didn't use full strength as it states on the bottle. Maybe 2/3 strength. I would imagine it would be well over 2EC if I went full strength.

My plan now is to keep it high at the start and gradually lower it as I top up the res with water.

I'm going to get some of that z7. Thanks. I seen you mention it before but I ended up going with Great white. Not really sure what they all do but if you guys are recommending them, I'm in .

Just picked up a new Mist Maker. They are so cool to watch. I could light up a fat one and watch it all night

And iv removed the top layer of the coco from the pots as I was seeing some white mold and moss. Hopefully the clay pebbles will help. Not having a great time of it with the mold so far lol

Update Veg week 5

I messed up the FIM job last week, they still seemed to be growing through the centre so I topped them all. After 2 days the side shoots started to take off.

Last night I put down the first scrog net just to get some control over them. I reckon another few days and I’ll flip.

Feed is the same as the above with the addition of z7. This stuff really works. I had some brown sludge forming on the roots but after 2 feeds with z7 they cleared up and are looking clean and white again thanks again KingJoe

Res is now at 1.4EC pH 5.5 and temp around 18 degrees. Stems are a little fragile so iv ordered some X force Silica, hoefully that will strenghten them up.

Room temps staying around 24 with the odd spike to 27. I must say iv never been able to keep temps this low. Previous growS I only ran 2x 600s and temps were up around the 30s. Now I’m running 3x 600s. Only difference was I vent the outtake exhaust through the chimney were as before it was vented into the house. Some difference.
