So me and the neighboor have decided to grow our own because prices around where I live have become outrageous. I started with bagseeds so i could get a hang of it without wasting good seeds.
I germed like 80 seeds and picked the best looking 13 sprouts and put them in a pot. The neighboor bought a hps for his plants, he started them in soil, transplanted them Tuesday, and now they're dead. When i looked at them yesterday the soil was bone dry. Did the plants die becasue of that or can they go through shock or anything from a transplant?

Re: ...darn...

Any number of things could have occured and without knowing more details it is hard to give you any tips. One think I can tell you is the soil needs to be somewhat moist. When you are potting the plants, you should mix the soil you will use together with some water. The soil should be somewhat damp but not soaking wet or bone dry either. Also, over fertilizing will sometimes kill immature plants. Hope this helps you somehow.

Cool. I don't really care cause my plants are healthy and growing nicely I just wanted to figure out what was up for him. Thanks.

Re: ...darn...

Dude, put it this way: If you were THIRSTY AS HELL, feelin dry and no one gave you water, you'd die, too. If the soil is dry that means it has NO WATER!:peace: :bongrip:

Re: ...darn...

the reason why your dirt was so dry is cause youre using a HPS. use a compact flouro to start off with you seed and switch it over to the HPS 2 weeks later.
