Dark Devil Auto: A Community Grow Record

Not sure if I set a record for this strain, but the dry weight is 118grams, or 4oz 6 grams. Woot.

I will post the dry weight shot when the video is done. This video was shot some days ago. She finished at 83 days old.

She was grown in pure rock wool, feed three times daily by drip feed, run to waist.

I think I want to do a whole room or tent with her.

Oh, cool, I still had time to edit the post. So here is the Dry Weight video, plus insider secrets on how to deal with dispensaries.

Fanfriggintastic vid, and harvest!:bravo:

Shocked as all hell at the lack of rootmass Vs produce. Do you think she was maxed out or could you somehow push her to fill that buck?

...seen kitty pop out and went:thedoubletake: thought for sure it was gonna pounce on some colas!

Edit, what do you mean 'deal with dispensaries'?

I think I can push this strain harder. I would need to use a root producer. Of course DWC would be a way to really push her. I might try that. Riffleman is going to.

Welp!

Im kinda, almost here. Been waiting weeks to join this party. Not sure my DD feels the same.
Started the process back on Nov 22, popped up yesterday.

Hasnt done much since, but is alive.
Nearly gave up on her twice. Once, while curiously digging to see the seed before tossing...i spotted it, a giant(thick) root about an inch long laying flat..horizontally, odd. Covered it and let it go..

Anyways. Hope to be back soon, with an awakened stubborn lil girl. Can only imagine what that spells for keeping her happy through flower:straightface:

Edit:

I hope everyone agrees with this?

I do :)

How's the little girl doing now?

Really great videos, LEDRF! But then I'm an admirer of your video work for a long time -- I was excited when I found you here at 420mag!

1. Your young cat is adorable. Looks a bit like a white and black one of mine, but much, much smarter :)
2. I lost it when you were holding the largest cola after several banana-sized ones and I was thinking, "banana, banana, cock", obviously, and then you said "cock". I wasn't even stoned and it made me laugh :)
3. OUTSTANDING YIELD. Over 4oz -- that's got to be a record, eh?
4. Fascinating info about dispensaries. I've idly wondered how they work vis a vis the growers, especially as we move towards some kind of legalization here in Canada.

Here's my baby girl -- at 16 days in coco coir under a 205 real watt MarsHydro reflector.

IMG_63757.JPG

When she was first "born" her stem was really purple. That's fading now, but I can't wait until she starts showing signs of colour. When has that happened for other DD growers? When do you notice the colour/identify the pheno. Is there an acknowledged range of colour phenos for the strain? I know there's the totally dark purple one -- the one with the purple leaves that LEDRF got once.

I've grown this one a bunch. It was only green one plant and was a runt for me. All the others with purple stem seedling and sometimes purple tinged cotyledons always go to green/purple --> black buds after cure, oh and psychedelic stone.

But I'm a canasaurious psychedelicas aficionado human pheno type. So YMMV on that there. :rasta:

I've got another round going. I'd say 5 or so seedlings @ 1-2 weeks in VEG but I pretty much leave them in VEG for the whole cycle at 20-4, growing them Au-naturale organic soil.

They start to show color after you see the pre-flowers. If the pistols have a sort of yellow tinge to them, it won't be long for the purple/black color on the calyx's to show up.

This bud tastes sooooo good and clean for me it hits the spot in my smoke schedule ... which already started ... yeah buddy, this buds for us! :passitleft: brb..gotta get me some cola.

Mine went purple just as BB tells it, just as the pistils begin to show. Two of my three in this last run were almost black/blue.

This was the baby, harvested Sunday. She only gave 2 gm in the end, but was the cutest thing I've grown to date.

bwah hah hah "But I'm a canasaurious psychedelicas aficionado human pheno type". Made me snicker :)

Such useful information, bobrown. Thank you! I now know what to look for and when :) The stem and cotyledons of this little girl were definitely purple tinged as a newborn. I am so excited!

Aw! She is adorable... I actually like the pheno with the green leaves and the purple flowers. Love the contrast and different colours, although the all purple one is stunning.

Thank you!

Hello my friends. Sorry it's been a while since my last update here. I promise at least weekly from now on. This is from my journal...
dark devil auto

My now big girl is at day 38 today, she has all the space she could ever want to have at the moment. She is a lanky thing having stretched a lot in her early days but She is budding up nicely and showing some purple already. Hopefully I can keep this girl healthy and female till the finish. She had feed today at 2ml grow, 2ml bloom 1ml topmax and 1 ml calmag per liter. She took 2 liters to runoff.

That's funny. Yeah, I think the guy that got voted in is trying to legalize it right?

She looks lovely, Mr Amazin -- tall and a bit gangly but definitely purple! It's really cool to see photos of this strain at different stages to track how the colouring comes in. Thank you!

Yeah, Justin Trudeau and his party, the Liberals, actually put cannabis legalization in the Speech from the Throne (roughly the equivalent of the American State of the Union address) -- a very real indicator of the priorities of this current parliamentary session. Amazing the difference -- you can kind of feel the surge in energy as the country starts to look in a different direction from our last government's "tough on crime" rhetoric.

And your cured DD is splendid :)

Nice about Cannada going green - my cottage in cottage country Ontario is Cottage # 420, hope to see some new faces this summer looking for some fun! :ganjamon:

12/13 Dark Devil(day 23)

Meant to get this up yesterday, but I forgot. RoorRip

Watered with General Organics Grow(10ml), Root(10ml), CaMg(5ml). She's so tiny so I may have butchered the topping, oh well.

Off with her head!

Dark Devil Auto - Day 77

She is like the Energizer Bunny....She keeps going and going.

Background: In 4'x4' tent, Mars Hydro II 900 along with 2 photo period plants so she's been 12/12 since 10/30/15 using RAW nutes, some Overdrive, Molasses and a taste of Epson salt. She was germinated in her final 5 gal smart pot. She is 20 inches and bud back building of 3 colas was done 11/18/2015. Straight water during the last two weeks and until harvest.

She's fading now with most of pistils browning. Trichomes will monitored closely and are mostly clear. I am patiently waiting for clouding and a few amber. Buds are frosty and beautiful with the dark undertones of the sugar leaves.

Damn, I love that! I know a few areas of cottage country in Ontario -- that sounds like heaven.

Oh, wow, Jim. The colours are driving me out of my mind -- so rich and yet fading towards harvest. Delicious.
