Damn, the inspiration here! Oh, I'm new by the way!

Hi, My name is E and I'm an alco....
Wait. wrong place...

Wow, this forum is awesome! I've never seen such a helpful and willing to share group! I'm so used to the trade forums of my industry where peoples secrets of success where held close to the vest in fear of "competition" even when the person is on the other side of the planet.:rolleyes3
Polar opposite here and I'm loving it!

Been lurking for a bit, soaking up info like a sponge, living vicariously by following a few journals, drooling over some of the rooms and saving an ASSLOAD of cash by following DIY/tips!
:thanks:

I don't have any current grows yet (except the experiment in an AeroGarden gone horribly wrong, leaving me with 3 4' plants from bagseed. LOL, don't ask!)

Right now all my energy is going into setting up my room and piecing everything together. It will actually be two sub-rooms of smaller size one veggie, one flowery. The flowery dept will be approx 50% bigger than the veggie bin.
All the stuff for the bloom room is in place or or at least here, waiting for the space to be vacated by afore mentioned FrankenAreoGarden. Ever seen 4' plants sticking out of an AeroGarden base? Funny shit.

My plans for the veg systems have been scrapped and redesigned due to much better baths I've seen here.
Both are full aeroponic, mostly all DIY on the bottom and commercial lights up-top (homie don't build lights from scratch).

I'll hopefully be able to start a grow journal in the near future but will likely be able to post a lot photos of build-out and setup of the room and systems in the meantime.
It'll be low budget (fucking economy) but nice and hopefully done right.
First run-through of both veg/flower setups will probably diesel bagseed I have to lower risk costs in a worst case scenario. At least until the whole process is dialed-in.
Bagseed.. Worst case would be ending up with a room full of hermies (fun on a date, but not in the garden) ... but I'll just pick through for beans before bong-rips :-D

If not, I've already scoped out a few usernames I'll probably be accosting for help :adore:

Anyhoo, that's me in a nutshell. Hope to be here a loooong time kiddos.
Feel free to say high! I know no one here. Not jack shit. Well, If Jack Shit is a member, I may know him.....

OK, so it's scientifically proven that threads with pics elicit more comments than threads without. Not that I'm an attention-whore or anything :goof:

Anyhoo.. photographic comment bait:

Interesting nickname. I've never shot a bride, although I was once shot at by a groom (true story!). Luckily, it's hard for the shooter to hit a moving target when he is also running, himself. And he was only doing so to attempt to salvage his dignity(?) - which was obviously a lost cause at that point - whilst I, OTOH, was running for my life. So I was much more motivated that day than he was (even though HE was the one that was getting married!).

ANYWAY...

Hi, My name is E and I'm an alco....
Wait. wrong place...

Ahh, we'll help you grow the cure for that here. Just don't be trying any of that twelve-step crap that that cult pushes lol.

I take it that your industry is fueled by greed? Here, well... If we can't help our fellow men (and women!), then WTF are we here for?

horribly wrong, leaving me with 3 4' plants
Yeah, those do sound kind of small - J/K LOL (I've tried several different "styles," but have always liked scrog best, and have had single plants filling a 12 and even once a 16 square foot screen - although the veg time sucked and I generally worked with 8 square foot screens after that; one of those days I'm going to find the perfect outdoor location for a GIANT scrog grow and see how large a screen I can fill with the sun as my light (five month veg period should be capable of filling a very large one <W00T!>) & leave the screen high enough that I can crawl around under it... Or maybe the guys in white outfits carrying the stretcher and the needle will end up catching me first, who knows?).

Oh, NOW I get it. Those aren't the best at delivering large amounts of nutrients I take it?

It'll be low budget

I like low-budget. Wait until your budget only allows for a setup that pretty much consists of a surplus parking lot light that you remoted the ballast on, a plastic tote for a reservoir that you only got to use because it was too tall for your (then) wife to fill with her shoes and jam under the bed, a $20 aquarium powerhead from WalMart to keep the solution oxygenated, and a set of donated airstones and airpump to help. Just a bit under $50 counting my share for Geolite and GH nutrients that I split with a friend (I got a good deal for doing the reading, thinking(lol), and driving). Oh yeah, some of us know low budget. You should try my meat(ish) stew. Or, actually, maybe you shouldn't...;)

If not, I've already scoped out a few usernames I'll probably be accosting for help :adore:

<TORTURED SOUL RUNS FOR THE DOOR!!!> J/K again, we'll do our best to see that you provide us with plenty of entertainment I mean don't screw up.

Are you setting that up so that the buckets drain completely? If so, you might consider putting the drain holes up partway on the sides of the buckets instead of on the bottoms. Reason: In case of a power outage of any length, roots in an aeroponic setup aren't going to get sprayed; but if they have grown out a bit and the tips can reach a bit of standing solution that should give you a bit of a safety net. And the "sprayers" that are misting the roots should keep the solution in the bottom of the buckets pretty fresh and oxygenated so you shouldn't have a problem with stagnation. Or you could even place an airstone at the bottom of each (fed by a manifold setup from a good high-quality air pump), raise the drain holes even more, and <BAM!> you've just home-built a homebuilt hybrid hydroponic/aeropoinc setup.

Err... I just get this way sometimes when I take my pills. <SHRUGS> But you ought to see me when I FORGET to take them lmao.

EEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW!!!!! TMI!!! Even my GF choked when I showed her that one lol. First she had to verify ("Does he mean...?") lmao. And she even likes to play with a "set of each" now and then - just not all on the same body thank goodness, or I'd be out of a job (and out the door running).

Anyway, some of the best herb I ever grew came from imported baggieseed. Of course it flowered for MONTHS (tropical sativa) but wow what a wonderful affect!

If the herb the seed came from was poorly-grown or incompletely flowered, and you do a good job growing out the seed and make sure to let it finish, you could do an order of magnitude better.

AHA! You were marked on my short-list of go-to peeps LOL

Those are not the buckets I'll be using. The local mom-n-pop hydro store was out of black 5 gals when I stopped by so I just used those white 2 gals for staging purposes. The closest store is great but they have a tiny storefront and try to stock a million things which means they can only fit a few of each. So you got to call dibs on the next delivery of stuff, like buckets.
What you described is exactly my goal. I'm a big DIY'r so I'll take pics all the way. It may be crap but with me, the way to build it will be well displayed LOL
I've been putting a lot of thought with the buckets. They will all share and drain into a common res.
Sort of good luck because if they had the buckets that day, I'd have dove in to fast and massacred 6 innocent buckets!

LMAO!!! I was a strip club DJ for about 12 years so my humour can be a tad off-color.
No human hermies for me thanks!

You BUY(?!?) five-gallon buckets?

Oh, man... I thought you "said" low-buget lol.

Too bad you didn't live on my street, I'd give you all you could carry (could you please take the lids too?).

<LAUGHING> So what do they get for buckets, maybe I should put a bunch up for sale.

No, I probably don't have that many. But let's see, I've used them for trash cans at places and job sites that I've worked, in the garage, in the basement, for a carwash bucket, to put a bunch of stuff in that I was giving away to people, as cheap tool"boxes" (have you seen those things that fit around them with a bunch of pockets?), for "emergency" step-stools (DON'T stand in the middle lmao), etc.

Once upon a time I stopped by the local paint store and asked the painters in there if they ever had any extra buckets lol. Now every time I run into one of them they're like, "Hey, can you use any more buckets?"

That and a couple cans of plastikote (primer & paint) and you'd never need to buy buckets again. STORAGE for buckets, maybe <LAUGHS AGAIN>.

You can probably find 30- and 55-gallon plastic barrels with tight-fitting lids that food products came in in your local "trading paper" too but those will probably cost you a couple of bucks each because there seems to be a market for them (people like to use a bunch of them to make floating docks out of).

New is what you get when you can't find used.

USED is what you get when you drive around the night before the trash runs and don't see what you need sitting beside a trash can lol.:slide:

Seriously, it keeps it out of a land-fill.

I once saw an add for a couple of "400-watt parking-lot lights" for $25. I didn't need them, but hey. A friend was looking for a REALLY cheap HID and a spare never hurts (at that price the efficiency factor was not a big deal and it would have left him enough money to buy a new bulb). When I went to look at them the guy wanted me to take the 30' aluminum poles that they were mounted to. I was like, "What, hanging out of my trunk lol?" So I told him no thanks. He ended up offering ME $25 to take everything (and he had a receipt for the bulbs - one was like three weeks old and the other a couple of months). I called my buddy, told him about it, he told me to tell the guy that he'd come and get them the next day.

Few days later we went on a road-trip to the hydro store and each picked up some supplies thanks to the $25 - and the money my buddy got from the scrapyard after he cut up the Al poles and took them in.

THAT'S low-budget.;)

Well... I <COUGH> hope you don't know my GF lol.

...well there was that one thing in the late 70's with the amyl nitrates and blow at the drag show but we shall never speak of that night.
:whoa:

Oh, I forgot to mention:

EEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW!!!!! TMI!!!

Like they say on the Adams Family, "Goodnight Uncle Fister."

I gotta' get out of this thread! I'm going to slide in beside the young lady and see how she's feelin'.

Damn, Tortured. I've never seen a free black 5 gal. anywhere! I own enough asst. 5gals to bail out the ark if needed... every color but black.
They hit you up for about $6-$7 for each new shiny black bucket.
I'd just saw in another thread the plastikote mentioned.
Don't know the price of plastikote off-hand but it sounds significantly more 'thrifty' to go that route with my existing buckets.

I'm relatively harmless as long as the meds hold up LOL.
The only thing I took away from 12 years of working with the nudies was a mouth that'll make a sailor gasp.
That and you just can't shock me anymore.

I just can't seem to shut the computer down tonight lol.

A can of good primer - helps the paint stick, especially when you are using it on plastic ("scuffing" knocking some of the shine off with a bit of sandpaper doesn't hurt either) - and a can of good paint will coat several buckets and anything else you want to make light-tight.

And, as you say, you already have the buckets.

I'm relatively harmless as long as the meds hold up LOL.

Sometimes my pills help, sometimes they... don't. Flip a coin and stand back lol.

The only thing I ever took out of a strip club was the GF. Well, and quite a few times I got talked into giving some of her... coworkers rides home too. Of course half the time we never made it past my place and it's true what they say about (some) strippers being as hard to get out of your house as cockroaches I guess. (As in, how do you get rid of cockroaches? You don't, you move!)

But the GF, she's a keeper. And since I never actually worked at da clubs - or visited much either, truth be told... And she doesn't work there either any more. Funny how you help a woman regain (gain?) her self-respect and she suddenly can't go back...

But this isn't Penthouse Forum, it'll be time for me to get up in less than three hours, and I haven't even gone to bed yet. For once I hope that I don't wake her up while getting into bed lol.

Have a good night man - or what's left of it!

T.S. & eScott - you guys crack me up! I can't wait for the journal.

You could be the first pay per view grow journal - hermies, brides & grooms shooting, threesomes... that's enough of a plot for me... just no whiskers coming out of the pancake makeup please? ;)

Yeah, all we need is... OMG, I forgot who it is that posted the bud porn (SORRY, I'm runnin' on empty today and it's kind of a cumulative thing)!

But I remember the girl's name is Julie. All we need is him to throw in a few "interesting" shots of Julie and her friend/neighbor/cousin/etc.

I'm going to take off before I get shot at AGAIN lol.

Twice was enough....

Quick heads-up on the name change. The original was so un-stealth that I feel I may be borderline retarded now. Luckily 420 fixed it right away.
A more personable name'ish name... eScott

Painfully true! Too funny!

Yep. They're all not flakes, they just need some faith and guidance sometimes.. I met my wife when she was hired as the new head bartender at the club I worked at. Within a year, we both quit and are pushing 10ish years of truly happy marriage. She's my best friend and you'd never know how or where we met LOL
