A NORTHERN TERRITORY man who filled his home with crocodile skulls and snakes has also allegedly been caught with drugs and firearms.

Craig Matthew Paddick is alleged to have had 13 croc skulls in his Darwin rural home and an unknown number of snakes - some believed to be protected - in cages.

The Northern Territory News reports the 37-year-old Girraween man appeared briefly in the Darwin Magistrates Court yesterday to adjourn his case for legal advice.

Police allege Remote Community Drug Desk police were speaking to Mr Paddick when they said they noticed cannabis on a verandah table.

A search of the home by drug enforcement officers allegedly found a hydroponic room growing six cannabis plants, two more cannabis plants, almost two kilograms of cannabis, a .45 pistol, an SKS self-loading rifle, four ceramic ballistic plates, and one gram of a********e.

Parks and Wildlife officers removed the snakes and croc skulls, because, police alleged, Mr Paddick did not have permits for them.

He was arrested and charged with cannabis possession and cultivation, as well as eight firearm offences.

He is also facing a charge of possessing a protected animal.

Magistrate Vince Luppino said they were "very serious charges" and urged Mr Paddick to seek legal advice.

He adjourned the case to June 5.

Crocodile skulls and snakes make great headlines! Add in the cannabis and you have a good ol' 420 time! It is such a shame that the establishment is always trying to interfere with our good times and freedom.
