Wow its getting awfully stinky in here. Gotta keep the tent closed at all times or the house is filling up with funk.

@Costanza Hope your enjoying your sunday, I have a quick question for you, Having only Scroged autos I didnt deal with as much growth or a real drastic stretch Like with photos. Im day 4 after turning my lights back on and going to 12/12. Im guessing im in a veg/preflower stage. my question is , I have some Bud producing growth above the net that is small, But big enough that with a week or two growth they would produce a decent bud. (Im clearing anything thing else smaller out) Im not really sure what to expect from the stretch. Should the stretch enough of a boost to get those stem/stalk's big enough to produce
I hope that makes sense lol
I appreciate the help
Thx

what I do is I take a yard stick and put one end on the top of the soil and create an invisible line at the 50% mark. Any leaves or branches that end up under that halfway line get removed. If there is a stalk that starts at maybe 20% and it goes a little past the halfway mark say 70% of the height I will keep that stalk. Then what I do is look at the plants from the front and see if I can see the back of the tent, air flow is very important to bud growth and if there are any branches that are much skinnier than the rest and right next to each other I will remove those to create some space for the lower buds to widen out. The stretch all depends on the genetics, but you can remedy this by pinching the stems on the branches a few inches before the top cola and bending the stem over on a 90 degree angle to keep all of the colas on an even light level to try and keep the canopy even. as long as those smaller shorter colas are getting enough light through the canopy they should be ok but anything a little lower that doesn't get as much light will not turn out great and you will end up having to wait to harvest in order to get them to maturity unless you do a partial harvest which I cannot do since I grow in a 4x4 and only have 1 room to grow and dry my plants. At day 4 your plants are probably just starting to go into their stretch this is the perfect time to pinch those stems and bend them over and super crop those branches so when they start stretching a lot the canopy will not go crazy and you won't have one bud 6 inches higher than the next

@Costanza I am really sorry to to be a pest But I think I'm going to learn something big. lol. Using the yard stick takes me about 4 " above the net I have a lot of stems I have a lot of 2 to 6 inch's sticking above the net. so let me see if I under stand this. NOW is the time for me to Lst, lay the longer stems down and get a even canopy,. It is okto still tie them down or how ever and clear out all the skippy and clear for air flow ? Im I following you correctly?

This is a lot different than a auto I didn't realize I could still be doing that, that changes everything Ill get rid of the skimpy and still have a lot of Bud spots . here is what my net looks like now, Im excited realizing I can still manipulate my Buds ,
`I appreciate your advice more than you know
Thank you

Your plants look great. You got the right idea with the plant ties on the right side. I like to take a plant tie and tie it to a square of netting and create a little hook and attach to the stalks to keep them spread out but thats not until around week 2 or 3 that's what I'm starting to do now.

Day 23 flower. Back left sugar puss plant is so frosty and sticky that if I touch any part of the plant get a thick coating of tangerine smelling resin. The others are a little bit behind but not much. Spreading out the colas a little bit to try and get some light to the lowers. This Thursday will be the last defoliation but will be very light just to open up some more light to the canopy. As the colas are stretching they're starting to spread out nicely and not grow so bunched up I'm hoping this is a good sign of huge buds in the next 3 weeks. At day 35 I will start gradually adding monopotasium phosphate to try and bulk the buds a little bit and then around day 55 I'm gonna start to back off the nutrients and gradually end up feeding ph water the last 7 to 10 days.

Thank you, what I just learned from you Helped a lot and answered a lot of questions I had, Im Glad @Bill284 recommend you. Bill has taught me so much the last 6-7 months I know he has a lot more room so I dont belive he doesn't have to scrog .But when ya got 4x4 to work with it limits options. Im sure Ill have more questions down the road the timing couldn't be better sounds like im a little behind you. Im really interested in your medium I wanna read more of your journal. But again thx hope ya have a good week

I will follow along on your current journal and chime in if there's anything I can help with and Bill is probably my favorite person on 420 mag he has helped me more than anyone and he isn't afraid to tell you the truth even if it hurts your feelings 😪 hes always trying to help

25F starting to really smell strong. Top right clockwise apes in space (gassy ice cream), carmelita( gassy mint), dreamsicle ( strawberry soda) and sugar puss ( tangerines).

Looking awesome!! I see you got the humidifier running also . I have a second net, my bottom is a 4"
and the top a 6" I am hoping after the stretch and flower start growing That I have to add it. You realize your pretty much writing an instruction manual for me lol. you wouldnt belive how many times I referenced your Journal.
Nice Job !! :headbanger:

Yeah I'm one of those weirdos that runs high temp and humidty in the first 4 weeks of flower. Next week I will drop my temps a few degrees and start dropping rh by about 5 each week until I'm around 50rh the last week or two . Glad to help also, cant wait to see your finished product

I turned my ac unit up I was doing 65F to 75F in hopes of drawing out the colors of my strains and I just bumped the temps up I been trying to keep my rh around 60% sometimes high and like you Ill cool it down later. I just recently learned its a bit to early for colors, Ill just wait till you start seeing color and just cool it down 2 weeks later lol. I better be careful between you and @Bill284 and a few others ill have to get savvage61 changed to copycat24/7
Take care
Thx

I was going to say you need buds before you can get them purple.
Last 2-3 weeks is vital to color change.
Week 3 don't matter.
Just keep temps in line, not cold.
Talk soon. :ciao:

Like bill said you wont get those colors until later in flowering. Keep those temps up in the mid 70s around 75 to 78f. Certain genetics will show some colors early but usually it takes until around week 6 or 7 of flower. I have 1 in my tent that has purple on the bottoms of the leaves so I think that one is genetics and by week 5 the leaves should start to turn purple but the other 3 I have all have green leaf bottoms.

This grow as you can tell by the name is all about the purple in my noobness I expected the Black lebanon to have the dark purple/black leaves from the start But I have learned that's not the case. pretty cool being 61 yrs old and a noob lol. hopefully Ill start seeing the purple leaves in a few weeks But the BBMR that's definitely going to be the last 3 weeks before I see the black/blue buds, remember how nice and even my canopy looked OMG jungle going wild. I am planning on taking your advice and let it go wild for about another week. then tie and hook the tall ones down far enough to get the canopy even. the funny thing about growing cannabis, the more you learn the more you realize what you dont know. I had a couple questions for you if you dont mind

1 the self watering device/wicks Do you like them? would you use them again? do you also feed thru them?

2. what did you set your net at to start? I set mine at 12in. when did you add your second net?

I appreciate your Help and advice your journal has been a huge help

Thanks

I like the self watering sip setup but wasnt expecting the roots to grow into the bases. On the next grow I'm gonna use them until I flip and then put the pots back on regular risers and saucers. At first I was filling up the bases with my nutrient formula but when I started getting burnt tips I realized that the solution was spiking and reading too high so I changed it up and I just put plain ph water in the base where the roots are hanging out and I've been top feeding 1gal of nutrient solution every other watering alternating between ph water and feedm every other week a few hours after I top water the plain ph water I give a out 12oz of my microbe mix. I do this after giving ph water so the microbe mix saturates the entire medium as it mixes with the ph water

I have my bottom net set at around 26inches and the top net set at 35 inches.

So once again my impatience has gotten the best of me. Day 28F defoliation done 2 days early at Day 26F. I tried not to get too crazy and remove too many leaves just the bigger fan leaves blocking the lower bud site and the fan leaves covering the lower parts of the plant that server no purpose and get no light. Looking like I have a good path for the light to hit the lowers well without going to crazy and making the plants look to bare like my last grow. I dont want ugly plants in this tent I want those colorful leaves to shine so hopefully I did a good job.
