Cold weather

Has anybody on here placed young plants outside in temps of 8 degrees C? Google says that's 46f. There's plenty of info on flowering plants in the cold, but I'm curious about early veg, like 3 or 4 nodes in.
My neighbour already put some of his in the ground and I'm wondering how they'll do.
I'll keep you posted as to his results, no pics though.

Soil temp is more important. Plants are used to cool temps when they're vegging, but if the soil is still very cold, they'll be very slow to grow at first.

Yeah. He has them in the ground, but I'm not sure what the soil temp is. I have mine in pots until after this last cold period. He's the guy who didn't believe me when I told him he had a male.
