Clownin' Around with a Couple of Moms

While skooter is messin around with growing out the last of the white castle's and such I'm getting busy preparing a couple of new mom's for the next two varieties on the menu...

We've had great luck so far with our non-fem'ed seeds being females, so like before, I only germinated one seed of each.

Both these plants are just ending three weeks from the seed cracking and are looking amazing....

If you can tell where one ends and the other begins:

The one on the left is Bubblelicious which was such a big hit when we did a single grow of it when we had only the little box that we had to do a big grow of it sooner rather than later...so here "she" is (fingers crossed.)

The one on the right is PAPAYA!...that's right, we are finally going to get this done....we've waited all too long and hope that it really is "relaxing, lethargic, and almost narcotic. "

I will be taking clones from the papaya this weekend so we can get them in the bloom room in about 14-21 days from now.

now a couple of pictures...(warning: Napkin may be needed)....:rocker:

It appears Slappy has gone rouge...

Shit! Im the first non-clown here!!!!

Bubbleicious and Pappaya ehhhhhh?

I just saw your other grow.... is that from frankie's strain?

Bendy

these are a fresh grow from seeds.. frankie was a crystal strain that was given us....

I took 8 papaya clones friday and they look as good today as they did when I cut them.

The "mom" doesn't even look like I took any....It's hard to see as the it is now in the back and the Bubblelicious has become a bush...I think I can trim it topiary style into a clown.

Can't remember who's thread it was on, but one of you guys switched to a rotatory spray head for their clone machine...I saw that and thought it made alot of sense so we too switched to one....what a difference it seems to have made...I suspect roots is 7-10 days at this rate

here's some fresh pictures..

Niiiiice.. Hey just a thought but you should put all of your completed grows in your sigs so others can learn from you.

Im interested in how that single head is going to work in the cloner. My micro sprinklers are awesome... on 3 rails and with the pressure dialed in just right they just gently tinkle nutes on the stems and I can sprout 18 at a time.

Oh god, what hot moms!!!! Total MILS (moms I like to smoke) hahaha. I know... that was a little retarded. Oh well. -finishes her bowl- But seriously, what a healthy looking girls you got there!

Ok, well it's been 6 days since I cut the clones....they still look amazingly healthy. Just some browning on a couple of the leaves that are leaning on the top of the tub but other than that they look almost as good as the day I cut them.

Still no roots though but I expect to see some in the next couple of days. (fingers crossed)

the mom recovered well but the bubblelious has gone nuts....I will have to address that after I get these clones finished and off to the bloom tent..

Can't wait to finally get this Papaya budding....:loopy:

Thanks SmokeyMacPots, but I will take all the luck I can get....can never have enough of that...

I'm always worried about the clones rooting until they grow roots, we haven't done alot of cloning so we are still working on our method...we are trying for 95-100% with as little work as possible (of course...that is the clown way)

so far our method consists of
step one...cut the clone
step two...dip end in rooting gel
step three...stick it in the neoprene and put it machine
step four...wait

we changed the spray head as we thought we might be drowning the stems...we'll see if it makes a difference....so far the stems look much fresher at this stage than they ever have...

we always take 8 clones but only grow out the best 4 so we have room to lose a few along the way as we fine tune out machine..

anyway...still no roots yet...

thanks guys...it's getting exciting again over in clownville...

It's been about 14 days now since the clones were taken..finally 7 of the 8 have roots starting...I brought them over to skooters' and set them up in the tent...in the next day or two skooter should be transplanting 6 of the best into net cups and back into the cloner until the roots drop out the bottom of the net cups....they'll go in the table at that point.....usually only takes a day or two after they get into the net cups....

the mom is doing great and now that it's matured a bit I believe I am seeing some female traits...either that or I'm just wishing it does...either way we should know in a couple of weeks what it is...

you can make out some of the roots in the pictures if you try hard enough...

The papaya monster....I mean mom is the one on the right...(like you can really tell where one ends and the other begins)

BTW:sorry for the crappy pictures

and away we go.....

Skooter transplanted 6 of them into net cups today and back into the cloner...just a couple of more days and they should be ready for the table..

We'll start a grow journal once they get into the table...
