clone problems

Have some clones in a bubbler about 2 weeks and the tops are turning yellow.
What to do? Help. sos anybody got any idea what the problem might be?

Yeah those are all good things to look at for troubleshooting. Actually it's a friend of mine that has the problem but he doesn't have a computer. We think it's a temp problem as it might have been too cold this last week. He used rooting powder then just water in the cloner. No roots have formed yet.

Gotta post more info if ur seriously lookin for help. at two weeks u should have at least seen one of the cuttings show roots. It also depends on the preparation of the mom before cuts were taken. If she wasn't misted for a few days to help "wash" the nitrogen out then it can take longer. Also certain strains are just more difficult to clone than others.

Sounds like a humidity problem to me, I have seen it before. The other good people were right about more info needed but that's what I would look at. High humidity and wet damp conditions will cause the symptoms you have described...

Thanks for the feedback. I wish I had more info but my friend hasn'et been by to follow up on this. I think the strain is Jock Horror and some free seeds along with. You've been most helpful and I hope to pass this info back to him before it's too late. :reading420magazine:

Do you mean Jack Herrer, the Hemperer?

Humudity is important

If ur friend checks back in, tell him this. High humidity is desireable for cuttings 80%-100% relative humidity. U risk mold issues with high humidity and low temps. Temps around 72-70F (and lower) with high humidityis like a mold (powdery mildew) orgy convention. Placing a humidity dome or tent over the top of the unit may help some. Also mist the cuttings at least twice daily with regular water. Plants must absorb moisture throught the stomata which are on the leaves until they establish a root system(they're like pores) this is why humidity is important. Once the roots establish themselves drop the humidity around 60%. U need a hygrometer to measure the humidity. The ambient air should be around 75F and the media temp in this case the water should be a few degrees higher to promote faster root growth. The yellowing is probably the plant mobilizing nitrogen from older leaves to the new growth which mean they could probably use a very light nute regimen. Also, cuttings can be foliar fed with a bloom formula to mist and prote faster rooting. Hope some of this helps.
