Neighbors' complaints led to a 23-year-old clerk being arrested for selling marijuana out of an Old Nashville Highway market Friday night after narcotics detectives served a search warrant for more drugs.

Mohammed Ali Khan sold marijuana several times from his uncle's Kountry Korner Market during an investigation that began in early February.

On one occasion Khan sold a quarter-pound of marijuana.

Detective Jason Mathis began the investigation after receiving numerous tips from people in the neighborhoods around the store at 7604 Old Nashville Highway.

When a search warrant was served last Friday, Khan was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a Schedule II narcotic and non-scheduled anxiety medications for which he had no prescription. Charges may be pending on those drugs.

Khan is the nephew of the store's owner, Kevin Shaban. Narcotics detectives believe Shaban had no knowledge of Khan's activities based on their investigation.

Khan, who lives at 210 Turtle Rock Court in Murfreesboro, is currently free on $4,000 bond and awaiting an April 14 General Sessions Court date on a charge of sale of Schedule VI narcotics (marijuana).
