Clay pebbles

Hello!
I’m thinking about using clay pebbles for my first grow! Where has everyone brought theirs from? Also rockwool for germination?

Any help or tips would be much appreciated..

The one I use is all different sizes and has always worked out well.

Germinator is right about the rockwool. Sorry I didn't see that for some reason
( gonna blame it on my 60 year old eyes). Rockwool is old tech and why some may prefer it I've a lot better experience with the rapid rooters.

I seem to be having issues with finding rapid rooters in the U.K.? Do we do them over here? Also what nutrients do you recommend?
We do however have something called root riot? Same concept?

I'll look into root riot.
You're going to get all answers on nutrients. I use General Hydroponic. I like it because it works and it's cheap compared to some others. Advanced is good to.
I looked into root riot. They look comparable to rapid rooters.

I use Botanicare with great results for a good while now. Not knocking others just haven't tried any of them.

As far as the clay pebbles go. I started out using hydroton and I do like it.

It is a pain to clean the first time. But I have been using it over and over again for years now.

I will absorb water and it will sink to the bottom of the bucket of water when cleaning.

The last bag I got was of some gray clay pebbles from England and they don't absorb water and they float.

That makes them a lot easier to clean. Other then that they both work fine to support the plant.

I use Botanicare Kind and at one time used GH 3part I also ran Advanced for a while but I did not care for that one much it took to many additives for me.

With GH you most likely will also need some Cal-mag. With Botanicare Kind you should be able to do the whole grow with just that.

With all three you will most likely need to also have something in the mix to protect the roots.

I use z7 water treatment for that. Not sure you can get that where you live. But hydrogrard or a few other things could also help in the regard

Yes. Same thing. I use Canna Terra Pro Plus and Canna neuts. They also do coco. Not sure about hydro.

Hi all, I have used Hydrotron with Rockwool for over 8 grows with no issues. Because of the weight you should buy it at the local grow store.
