clay pebbles and coco soild

i have been growing in coco for three years now and have had some good crops off it. But down at my local grow shop i had heard that putting coco at the bottem of the pot then cley pebbles then coco again and another thin layer of clay pebbles is suposed to work better by givving the roots more air to breath in and the clay pebbles to hold the nutriants more. So i just wanted to no your opions on this idea befor i try it out. please show me what you would think of this.

i was thinking of doing a test puting sum in coco sum in pebbles and sum in coco and pebbles see witch 1 is yeilding the biggest then stick to it.

You will have to use clones of the same strain. It's the way to find out.
