Cannabis legalisation in the US state of Colorado has proved to have influenced musical tastes in 2014, after Spotify revealed that their 'chill out' playlists trended significantly higher on Colorado campuses than anywhere else in the nation.
Revealing the stoner statistics in their annual review, the music streaming service also said that March saw record sales for the narcotic in Colorado.
They wrote: 'Colorado, the first state to legalise marijuana, celebrates an unofficial "celebration of weed culture". And celebrate they do, it's a record-breaking month for marijuana stores, with over $22 million in sales'.
Appropriately named tracks on the Spotify playlist include 'Dreams', 'Lost in Thought', 'Relax', and 'Free'.
Colorado became one of the first states to legalise Marijuana in 2012, following the passing of Colorado Amendment 64.
Hazy shopkeepers selling the drug opened their doors in the state capital of Denver at the beginning of 2014.
