CFL's Day Light vers's Soft White

I have a question about cfl what is the diffrence between day light and soft white bulbs. i know the light spectrums a lil diffrent 2700k for soft and 6500k.i think im not sure. this is why im asking. i have 5 200watt cfl day light and about 10 100watt day light. they seem to work fine in my box. but i read and see that people are talking about soft white instead of day light. it seems to me that day light would be better. can someone inliten me.
