Is it OK for air to be pushed through the filter to scrub air? I know ideally it should go the other way being sucked in. I have to push through with the filter sitting on outside of tent and wonder is if filter works either air direction?

It will work but you will more than likely need a higher CFM fan to overcome back pressure from pushing through a filter to get the same airflow as when pulling through a filter. If the reduction in airflow doesn't matter than you should be fine.

You lose some efficiency but you can gang two fans together to increase the push.

You should check with the manufacturer of the filter. I know Phresh filter has some that work both ways.

The thing is I have a small tent only 4 by 2 feet.by having the filter outside I have more room for another plant and it doesn't create so much negative pressure that my walls cave even with all the vents open which I don't like either. Just hope it still works on the smell when the time comes. The hydro store guy said it will work because the air cooled light I have using air tight.
