'Cannabis Caravan' Event Canceled

The Montana Caregivers Network has canceled plans to have a medical cannabis clinic visit The University Quality Inn in Lansing on Sunday because of "bomb threats," according to Jason Christ, the founder who is trumpeting his new Michigan Caregivers Network.

The hotel's general manager, though, said he told Christ's organization that the event would not be allowed if marijuana was involved.

Sunday's event was intended for seriously ill residents who wanted to bring their medical records and $150 to see a doctor, who would have given recommendations on whether the residents should be eligible for the state's medical marijuana program.

Christ said mid-Michigan residents still can call (248) 598-0143 for a teleclinic appointment with a Michigan doctor. For more information, visit MCN - Providing Free Resources to the people of Montana about Medical Marijuana.

The Capitol City Compassion Club still will have its own event where patients can see a doctor Sunday. For more information, call (517) 282-1986.
