Can I Top or FIM a couple of nodes below the top one?

I have a mother plant in veg in my grow cab and she is getting to tall so I want to top or FIM him but everywhere I read about it it says do it at the top I was wondering if I could do it like 3 or 4 nodes down to really take off some of its height?

You can. It is fairly stressful. I wouldn't take any clones from her for a couple of weeks after. Be very sterile. I would alcohol swab the area you will cut as well as the razor you use. Cut as close as possible to to node below the cut but not too deep into the node.

Consider cloning her and keeping the clone as the next mom. This way you don't have to worry so much about height management. Take a handful of clones and keep the strongest for the new mom. You should be able to do this for many generations.
