Yes you can, some 10 years ago I did a plant and forget grow with bag seed from a local strain in a park and ended up with some weed, not very potent or tasty, but smokeable.
When doing ''plant and forget'' you shouldn't expect anything, and be happy if you get something.
If you want something good, take care of a few plants or plant out loads and see what happens.
What about the edge of the woods, sorry to say a deer hotspot, find an opening or edge. That is where many of us started, sad it is a year between new classes on learning to grow outdoors as not much redo's until next spring. My god, it is a matter of years to get better at outdoor grows, but that is all you need, one grow per year if you do it right. I am no expert but much better after the support and knowledge of reading through the pages here. Buckle down, read it all.
