Can I defoliate here

I accidentally fimmed this girl when she was young. As you can see she got fairly bushy and has large fan leaves near the top. Unfortunately, they block at least 6 bud sites.

Sorry that was an old picture. Here is a recent one. Don't mind the droopiness, she just got watered after 6 days. Still trying to figure out her water uptake

You're going to get mixed answers.
Veg is definitely the time to do it. I used to defole heavy. But after seeing some against it I now defole less. If you decide to I would suggest a few leaves at a time. So it doesn't over stress her. I am in flower and still take a couple leaves off weekly.
Someday I am going to do a side by side test.
She's looking good.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I just finished my first week of flower. I'll research some more. If worst comes to worst I'll lower the trellis and start training early
