An Oakland County Circuit judge will hear arguments during a pretrial on Tuesday involving a group of defendants who owned and worked at a Ferndale medical marijuana clinic.

Drug charges remain for Ryan Richmond, Barbara Johnson, Anthony Agro, Barbara Agro and Nicholas Agro six years after the establishment, called Clinical Relief, was raided Aug. 26, 2010.

The defendants – who either owned or worked at the clinic, which was located on Hilton Road – are scheduled for a pretrial hearing at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, in Circuit Judge Daniel P. O'Brien's courtroom.

Since the initiation of charges, attorneys for all defendants have challenged every aspect of the prosecution's case and have appeared in court numerous times – primarily to argue issues of law.

But the defendants' main point, through their attorneys, was that the owners of the clinic believed they were complying with the law and had approval from the city of Ferndale.

However, prosecutors have said that caregivers are only able to provide marijuana for up to five patients and must be connected to those patients through a registration process.
