The Beaumont City Council will consider naming two members to a joint committee with neighboring Banning to study cannabis when it meets Tuesday, Aug. 2.
Many cities have been looking at marijuana laws in the face of changing state laws and a November initiative that could legalize pot in the state.
Beaumont also will consider forming a Youth Advisory Council at the meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. at the Civic Center, 550 E. 6th St.
