Buying Soil Online

So I just purchased so about 8 bags of Fox Farm Ocean Forest potting soil off amazon. I am going to my local hydroponic store to get some tomorrow just to start with because i did not want to raise any red flags. Now a buddy of mine told me not to purchase soil online because of mold/fungi/flies. Is their anyway to make sure that does not happen? Is it possible?

I'd be very careful with most things that come from the standard big box hardware place. Some smaller gardening shops might carry sterilized soil.
You might even have a hydroponic/grow shop in your area. If so, they will surely have what you want and probably carry FFOF.
Another option is to actually cook your soil. I've read of the process before, but have never tried it. Basically, you just cook your soil to kill off bugs and whatnot. I'm sure a search of the forums will provide you with some directions on how to do it.

You're safe buying FFOF online. Your friend was referring to other soils. FFOF is FFOF. It doesn't matter where you buy it.
