Buying from seedsman.com in Canada

I've ordered from them and the package has left Great Britain, but it's been in limbo for a while now. Canadapost hasn't seemed to receive it yet...getting a little anxious.

Anyone here from Canada ever successfully receive an order from seedsman.com?

I try to order locally, or go to the seed store we have in the toronto area

I have, in fact I have another order as well waiting to be shipped. Typically Canada Post doesn't update their tracking. If they do you may see something like 'At customs waiting for release'. It most likely will show up at your door and CP will still show it as 'In Transit'.

Did you get the insurance option in case customs decides to have a bean party?

On another note, there are a couple of good CDN seed suppliers in the Sponsors section. Dr. Seeds and True North come to mind. Dr. Seeds is in Ontario and has fast shipping.

I just used them last month eastern USA. Package took 2.5 weeks. I got tracking email same day as delivery. Get insurance because if package gets lost they send you it again. A lot of comments I see that people never got package or their money back is because they didn’t buy insurance. That’s the only way they will resend packages.

Cool that Canadapost may not update...hopefully will arrive soon. I certainly did pay for tracked/signed delivery and insurance...also paid for original packaging.

I normally do buy locally, but seedsman was a one stop shop for some specific strains I was after: Frisian Dew, Durban Poison, Pinewarp & Nepal Jam. All these strains are reported to be able to finish in wet weather. Pinewarp supposedly is native to the Vancouver Islands. Which is where I'm growing.

Seedsman gave me two tracking numbers...and they both said at UKmail last week "handed to delivery partner"....but CP says "We didn’t find an item associated with this number."

Is that normal?

That's totally normal same thing happened to me on a Seedsman order just a couple of weeks ago and like you am from Van Island and paid for tracking delivery. It said with delivery partner for a few days and CP tracking had nothing associated with the number then a few days later they were in my hands. That was the 3rd order I made with Seedsman and have never had an issue getting my beans.

It’s been about five years since I used Seedsman but when I did there was several weeks dead air in transit and I was getting pretty antsy by the time the package eventually showed up.
The Royal Mail tracking number ‘should’ carry over to Canada Post but didn’t work for me. Canada Post tracking is a little useless anyway but when it does work it at least occasionally let’s you know the oxcart is still lumbering down the road and will continue to check in once a week or so with helpful info like ‘in transit’...
In any case Seedsman is good for it, if something does go wrong.
