Blueberries outside?

:peace: Howdy all,

Last year I planted and grew out one female Blueberries plant from Black Label seeds. I got the seeds from Soft Secrets after sending in a photo of my mate, Charlie, holding up some huge buds from another grow. I actually had intended to grow it inside in an NFT tank, but due to time constraints and space problems, I ended up just taking the Rockwool cube the plant was in, digging a shallow hole in the dirt, and sticking it in with a firm packing of the soil.
At any rate, that plant did well and aside from some mould problems near the end of the grow which actually forced me to harvest her a bit early I consider that plant to be quite a successful grow! It was truly wonderful smoke. It didn't "hermie" or anything, but it did produce about 60 or 70 seeds which I kept.

My question is this...will those seeds produce only females, or will they be just the same as if they had been pollinated and will have the same 50% ratio between male and female? I want to plant a few in my back garden in a special hidden-away portion of my garden that is secluded enough to be safe, but still get's lots of sunshine. I have a southerly facing garden so the sun is perfect for my plants.

Also, will they be as potent as the original plant? Is there anything special I need to do to the seeds before planting them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would love to have a few plants worth of that smoke in my pot pantry.

All the best!:joint:

IMHO. They probably aren't femish seeds. I don't think there's anyway of getting seeds unless your plant was polinated. If you're sure you didn't have a hermi, your plant probably just got polinated by someone elses grow nearby. In which case, you now have a cross breed, and there's no way to tell what it is untill you grow it and smoke it. Good luck though, and let us know what you get. Just my 2 cents.

Female seeds are made when a hermi fertilizes it's own seeds. I agree with vinter that if you had no hermis, and you had no males, and you still got seed chances are some pollen blew in from another grow and fertilized the seeds.

sometimes differences in the light cycle can cause seeds to form. i had done that b4. i have also read of a plant having a single male part and then self polinating itself totally with just that one male sac, maybe internally i dont really know but im pretty sure i read it. yeah thatd be pretty far out if you got pollinated by someone elses weed.

Hey Eldamari420: These seeds that you had develope due to a change in light cycle, did they germ? That's pretty far out!. I don't think it's so amazing that Mojave Dave's plants were polinated. Bees will travel several miles from the hive every day in search of flowers. I think he's pretty lucky he didn't get more seeds than he did. Since he lives in GB where it's not illegal to possess seeds, I would think there are probably more folks that grow there than there are here. Just my 2 cents again.

yeah that plants still going shes like 9 weeks so i imagine shell finish soon i did give her to a friend to finish her for me but he and i believe that they will be feminized.

heres a pic from a long long time ago but this was the first one i noticed. but after messing up for only about 3 days in a row just partial light shoinginto the tent. there are like 6 others but i havent seen her in 2 weeks.

hm, change in light cycle, will definately give you some seeds... i fucked up, and i got some seeds in my females, and no males were around and it's indoor, but there were a few times that i forgot to close the grow room door and when the lights went out, there was still light creeping in, and i have a couple seeds here and there, but only on the plant that got the light, it's really crazy!!!
so are these seeds produced by fuckin up the light.... are the feminized? are no?

Well, call me a Doughting Thomas, but I can't imagine that it's possible for a plant to grow viable seeds just from a change in light cycle. I'm not saying they might not produce seed pods w/actuall seeds in them, but seeds need to be polinated. If no pollen is involved, how can the seeds be viable? Eldamari420, please keep us informed on how these seeds do. If they germ, and what sex they are.
Vin

yeah i wonder how they make feminized seeds to begin with but weeds a wonderfully strange plant and i wouldnt doubt that they are perfectly viable. ill let ye know how many and how they look when i get them.

Please do keep us informed on how they do. Femish seeds come from plants that have been pollinated w/hermi male flowers. Even though they're male flowers, they appear on a female plant, and so they only carry female sex chromisomes, so all the seeds are female! Never complain about getting a hermi man. Use it to carefully pollinate several flowers on your female plants, and all your seeds will be femish. Very cool indeed for your next grow.I'm woundering if it's possible to stress my lowryders the same way you did? I would truely love a hermi lowryder, or all femish seeds, so please let us know!

*ding ding ding*
we have hit a GREAT topic!!!
can't wait for input

seriously!!! cuz i can't imagine (if they do germinate) how they can end up being males? i mean like it was said NO POLLEN, but still seeds.. so if the seed duz END up germing, I think it HAS TO BE A FEMALE.. kinda like taking a clone, if u take a clone from a fem. plant it's gonna be a female,
so if u have seeds and no males (or pollen)... can't have male hormones in there... right?

I have those seed pods, too!!! but the seeds don't look as exposed as yours, mine just looks like a swollen trichome, and u can see a rip and the green seed coming out

i am at work, but i will post when i get home

You can make feminized seeds from a female plant that do germinate and grow.

To do this you need to grow out a female plant, and as it get's near it's end you need to stress the overloving shit out of it. Some people use acids on the roots to stress it, some people use light stress.

But the female plant will make sacs, and make seeds that a completely growable.

They look like little bannana's, so yeah I'm assuming the're male flowers. Not completely sure. The article was in a High Times..I gotta try and find it.
