Blackberry Kush
Lineage: Blackberry x Afghani (some say Blackberry x Purple Urkle)
Type: Indica dominant
From: S2 bagseed
Smell: Very fruity, not very pungent
Taste: Sweet and almost fruity
Type of buzz: Onset is very fast, effects felt in the head (cerebral effects and a fuzzy physical sensation) almost immediately, would describe it as a rush. Not very energetic, more relaxing, with a nice body stone.
Length of buzz: About 30 minutes, I have a high tolerance
Best medicinal use: It's really effective against my nausea, but doesn't really do much for my depression or anxiety. Very nice for pain relief.
Grower's remarks: These plants were fast growers. I got the seed from a crop that had been self-pollenated, so these are S2 seeds and I think the traits of its Blackberry parent are readily visible in the way its leaves yellow and purple during flower.See Lester Freeman's review Nirvana's Blackberry - Strain Review It tolerated nutrients well, but the leaf tips seemed to be in a perpetual state of sag. Observed at least three phenotypes, with the third being just a mutation. I harvested at 50/50 clear/cloudy as well as 90% cloudy and 10% amber, but the effects don't differ greatly.
Overall: This is a lovely strain. I have had it from a dispensary but wasn't really as impressed. I think harvesting before it gets heavy with amber trichomes gives it a much more heady high that I enjoy. It doesn't really make me feel couchlocked and gives me a bit of a shot of energy to go do stuff, but that could just be because it makes me feel better. It's tremendous at treating abdominal cramps because of its fast onset.
