Augusta - A bill that would give medical marijuana patients and caregivers of family members the option to register with the state's Medical Marijuana Registry has passed the House.
Currently, a patient who is prescribed medical marijuana has to register with the Department of Health and Human Services, pay the state a $100 fee and sign a release of medical information.
If the bill passes, caregivers not growing marijuana for family members will still have to register.
The bill now heads to the Senate for additional approval.
