BigJayDiggler's Soil Headband Grow Journal 2020

I need all the help I can get. I pruned ( first time and watered tonight, which I'm submitting pics of tonight. I did 6 gal over 14 pots. Last watered Friday morn, so almost three days. I didn't fill them to overflow this time though, to test the affect. I set my humidifier in the tent too. Trying to raise it last 45% humidity. Second pic is one of plant with branches intertwining. I had to sort out that and a few others that were similar.

Day 27
24/7 lights at 48"
74°
49% rh w humidifier
More pruning. Some of them are so bushy, they have branches intertwining. I pulled them apart and tried to seperate them. I hate cutting them, but after watching videos, I still don't fully understand where the cut. Floated all 14 pots in only 2 days from last watrring. 7gal/14pots. I have a little bit of yellow tips on some and canoe type leaves. I thought they needed more water. Figuring out the water is challenging.

Day 29. Yellow tips canoes. I suspect pH, but other plants are fairing better so unsure. I have been pruning lately. It's like affecting my OCD. Lights are at 48" 24/7. 74-78° and 44-49% RH consistent. Watered half gallon per pot 14 (pots). Every other day it seems now. Plants are about 18" tall, not all, but most

33 days veg. I pruned and watered. Started flower phase yesterday. Adding this to it next watering. Any advice?
Also a revelation. Seeds got mixed with ones I was supposed to grow. Now that is all up in the air, because now I have no idea what is being grown. How long till I see male or female?

Day 35. Before pic. Gave nutes. 5 mil per gallon. That's half the recommendation. Half gallon per pot, 14 pots. Too early to tell if it's female. See pic. This line has a bud solution too. Anyone have experience with it?

Day 37. Pruned again. Put in dehumidifier. Lights at 36". Seperated tall girls from the shorties the other day. Don't remember if I mentioned that. Want to see if the shorties can catch up. Added bio bud and cal mag to 8 gal for 14 pots. They were dry. I need to watch the plant water consumption better. I Only used Half the recommended dose. I will have the after pics tomorrow. I forgot to send yesterday's after pic. It would be to confusing to add now. So, the girls are a little droopy but after the watering and feeding I think everybody will be just fine. I said I wouldn't prune anymore, but my OCD was going. I'm not doing it again for a while. I definitely don't want humidity probs. I'm going to look for an A/C unit for the tent.

Hi big jay, what’s goin on. I’m stoppin’ in to see what you got doin’. I gotta say bud, those 2 next light Megas are more than enough to light up that whole tent with mature flowering plants. You are blasting your girls with way too much light. That’s why they look a little too light green and are kind of drooping downwards.

my advice would be to take out one of your lights for now, and jack the other one up as far up as you can. You’ve got 650w actual draw on each of those lights. That’s a lot of power, and with 2.1ppfd full spectrum diodes you’re basically blasting your plants with enough light to light up a 7x14 veg area. It’s a good thing they’re LED panels, cause if they were 1000w HiD hoods your plants would be cooked.

other than that you seem like your feed is fine. it’s a bit hard to know cause they’re stressed from the light, but if it was off the problems would show up much quicker than normal I would imagine.

with all that space and powerful lighting id recommend vegging another 2 weeks, you’ll be much much happier with the yield if your plants reach full maturity before you flip the light schedule. Also, what are you planning for training? Have you done any topping? Cause I wouldn’t, not yet.

I’m gonna stick around and see how this run goes for you

Hey Chef, appreciate your advice. I actually lowered the lights to 24". I had some florescent plants not all, but it is improving. Since the nutes that is. In case you're curious. I copied a friend's set up and also started flower phase 5 days ago. I'm afraid if I stress it it would hermi. I def want a good yield. Potent. Won't my plants double in height?
Yes I topped them. As far as training. I'm still learning. Been watching tube videos. I will post the next pic tomorrow to show the difference. Thanks for helping me. I'm experimenting with everything.

You need to move your light up to the top of your tent, it’s way too powerful to be that close in veg. You are really stressing your plants with too much light. You also need to take one of your lights out of your tent for now. It’s not necessary

Heat this morning was 81 after lights came on. DeHumidifier putting out warm air. Going to look for an A/C unit. Like a portable small one. So, I'm going back to where the height of the lights were. Still learning. I'm leaving both lights, as the florescents were returning to greener tints.
I guess I'm reluctant to take out the light, as my associates are running the exact same set up. Although, they are experiencing different results with different environments. It is puzzling to me.

Both lights will be great when the plants are flowering and need a ton of light, but right now they’re vegging and less light is better for their health and growth rate. good luck then
Didn't mean to come off like a stubborn child. I raised the lights up to the top like you suggested. Also, I have to mention that I'm struggling with the water plan. I mean I am watering every other day now. Some are drinking it down in a day.
The reason I switched to flower after 5 weeks, was because if other advice telling me that a young plant grows faster and better than a mature one. So much info out there!

It’s stretches more because it’s trying to make up for lost veg time. If you wait until the branches are all putting out alternating nodes and there are preflowers showing, you get less stretch and better buds. Trust me on this one. I flowered my Star Pupil after 4 weeks in veg. After I reveg’d her, the second time I flowered her, she was fully matured and yielded 2x the weight.

Wanted to show you some pics.
First pic is of two others that were yellowing and showing signs of nitro deficiency. They are much better now than they were a week ago. Second pic is if the same plants, but a week or so ago. See how much more florescent they were? They look a lot better now. Lights are back to about 36". Can you tell the difference between in the pics?

Your saying, I can switch back to 24/7 lights and veg another week or so? Then go back to flower?
