HONOLULU -- Police said they have made possibly the largest dried marijuana and hashish bust ever on the Big Island.
Acting Lt. Steven Correia said a major hashish manufacturing operation and marijuana cultivation site was dismantled on Tuesday.
A 64-year-old man and his 60-year-old wife were arrested.
Police recovered 199 marijuana plants, 75 pounds of dried marijuana, two pounds of processed hashish and hashish manufacturing equipment from a 29-acre ranch, Correia said.
Part of the dried marijuana included 127 individually vacuum-sealed one-ounce packets, each labeled with prices ranging from $280 to $300, he said.
Police estimate the value of the seized contraband at $500,000.
