Bgsixx's 2x4 Grow Lab, Different Strains, Lots Of Pics

New to 420 mag... So im currently running a og kush(seedman freebie) photo, took a clone off of it just to brush up on cloning skills, and wanted to try straight perilite in a solo cup, it worked great. Also have a bagseed i found in some good bud.
I just started back growing after about a ten year layoff. My only real grow experience is outdoor guerilla style. And ive done some indoor about 10 years ago, with cfls and a closet.
Currently i have a 2x4 spider farmer tent, in a closet. Vented by a 4" sf inline fan. Also have 2 small hurricane fans for circulation.
The light is a spider farmer sf2000,200watt light.
I also have a 3x3 tent in the garage, ive been using it for drying my first crop.
Received tent kit($550) in December. I also for the first time, purchased some real seeds. Spent 95 bucks at seedsman and got: -3 tropicana banana
(Barneys farm).

In December i popped 2 critical autos and 2 weeks later, bc i didnt think first 2 were gonna make it i popped another critical auto and a og kush. So while the criticals were growing out i would veg og kush at same time. Harvested the 3 autos got 54grams, they were small!!! My fault, rusty.

Currently the og's and bagseed are 26 days into flower.
-Foxfarm o.f. soil
-dr earth dry amendments
Vegtable fertilzer and bloom booster
-3&5 gallon fabric pots
And a small gallon for
Og Clone.
Trying organic this time. Topfed all plants with flowering mix, 3 weeks ago. Still looking green. Ok i think im done talking this is the longest post ive ever made!!! Pics of current setup and of last of the harvested critical autos.

So my first harvest i messed up from get go. Started with some cheap soil and amended it. Well ended up almost killing the first 2 criticals so had to trans plant them in to some foxfarm ocean forest soil. They ended up making it, but were stunted. When i planted the 3rd critical and og they went straight into foxfarmsoil. But shouldve started the critical in its final pot ended up paying for it bc she was the smallest of them all.
So i think i also harvested first 2 criticals too early. They taste ok and the high is to uplifty for me, im a indica type guy. But the small one i let got about ten days longer to day 75 and she was smelly and the high was great put me down for two hours everytime i smoke it. Great fishing weed!!!
After these finish up i will pop two Glookies, heard some good reports on that strain, will be my first time running some genetics from a reputable company. Cant wait. But i will not be harvesting early on these. My mistake last time was a rookie one. I just looked on one bud when i checked trics with scope. On the small auto i checked all around the plant and got it right. Ive learned my lesson will not harvest until i see 10-20% amber all around plant. That's my number.

Day 32 flower everything chugging along!!! Smoked the last of my harvest last night. I smoke too much!!!! Sike!!!! When i die somebody better have a blunt in my mouth at the wake!!!

Just been giving girls plain phd dechlorinated tap water. 6.0 to 6.5... been using drops and a cheapo pen to keep it between 6 and 7. My water is pretty good only chlorine and comes out at 7.5. usually have to add 2 drops/gal of ph down to get it to 6.5ish. let water sit at least 24hrs before using. Also just gave girls their second round of molasses. Been doing it every other watering. Other than that just sit there and stare at them for about 30 mins a day at least. Takes about an hour to water them, i go slow i hate runoff. Heres some pics:

Day 36 beginning of week 6
Did a major defoliation on all the girls, they look pitiful!!!

All plants are looking about the same as when i defoli'd. Been having ac issues in the house so temps been climbing up into the mid 80's. I think this is slowing down growth or im just not waiting long enough for them to recover. Leaves look good no wilting or yellowing. Moved light closer by a couple inches but turned power down to 75%. Hope that helps with heat until ac is fixed. Ill take some flix tonight maybe. Gotta work next 7 days.

Day 43 flowering week7
Plants look ok. Not fattening up yet, and big og's trichome production hasnt really kicked into high gear yet. Still got 4 good weeks or so. Gonna let these go as long as they need. All ive been doing is watering with ph.6.5 tapwater. Gonna hit them with some recharge next watering, gonna wait til all pots are super lite. I love the way the bag seed looks. Gotta start working on my room in the garage, its gonna be 8x8x10. Ill put my 32x32x5 in there. Then i can get a perpetual harvest going.

Looking back on this run and the mistakes ive made.

1st i think i mightve over watered a couple of times.

Gotta start letting them dry out a lil more. And definitely need to start keeping a journal. Next run i will use this forum as a journal and keep a written journal. And give the ladies at least 2 days to dry out. And maybe stop trying to keep topsoil moist with daily mistings.

2nd definitely over amended the soil. Was supposed to give them 1 1/2 tbs/gal of soil gave them 2. Leaf tips on both og's are burnt, bagseed took it.

So i probably wont get what im supposed to outta this setup but theres always next run!!!

Also looking back on first 2 runs, i might be starting my training to early. Watched a few videos and noticed most guys dont start training until about 30 days or so into veg. Somebody also said veg doesn't start until the plants have 4 nodes. I just been counting veg from sprout. Idk just gonna keep trying and tweaking shit until I find my groove!!! Tmi out there!!!

Day 49 end of week 7
Plants are still green, thats about all i can say. Good trichome production starting on 2 small plants, but big og has very limited trichomes. Her growth has slowed, and its probably over watered. Why, bc im an idiot!!! Cant stop micro managing. They are swelling, so thats a good thing. Here's some pics.

Sorry its been a minute.
To catch this up, all the plants got pollinated by the bagseed, it turned hermie. So the lil clone was first to be harvested about a week ago. I quick dried it and smoked it. It was not bad, and had only a couple of seeds in it.
Ok so i harvested the og kush 3 days ago at day 68.
The hermie bagseed will get harvested Thursday.
My plan is to run 2 critical+2.0 autos next. So will clean tent out and make some adjustments to the closet to try to get some more air in there and see if i can seal up better. Might construct some kinda of light blocker for vent on side of tent thats only place light can get in. Thats the plan so far. Here's some pics of the stuff I will be using on next grow. Couldnt get promix hp bc hydro shop closed near me. But this promix doesn't have nutes in it, and its cheap af 14 bucks @wallyworld! Hope it works, bc that will make my life so much easier. They have pallets of it too. Also have some extra perilite and ewc.

Harvested the hermie 3 days ago. Started some barneys farm genetics. 1 glookies and 1 tropicana banana. Started them about 3 days ago, and they are officially on day 1. Got buckets ready, gonna use 2 sip buckets. Heres some pics. Also have some banana peppers germinating in tent.

This is usually the time I fuck everything up, by being a micromanger. Im gonna chill this time and just enjoy the growth, hopefully!
Working on reading the plants more this run, and not just going off what i feel they need.
I think the buckets will help with that over/under watering problem. Just gotta get it right the first month or so.
Haven't really had any nutrient problems, except for the over use of the liquid kelp, which gave me a slight nitrogen toxicity. Thanks to the forum, and all the expert help, i was able to fix it quick, and learn that kelp is not good every watering(for some genetics)!
This growing shit is addictive, now i know what a crackhead feels like, bc i be feening to get home and check on the plants... I think my wifes getting jealous!!!! She was ok with me smoking the girl, but now i wanna grow the bitch, hell to the NO!!! Luckily im the man of the house and what i say goes!!! Sike

You will be enjoy SIP growing, without the worries of over/under watering. I currently have two growing the same way, and have plans on starting 4 more for my next 4x4 grow. Something to consider is using hydro-guard in your feed water occasionally, to keep your roots happy that are in water.

Thank tokin r.. thats a good idea with the hydro guard, im hoping with the 2in air gap between soil and rez that roots will air prune and not reach the water. But i know a few might.
Yeah if these sips workout this run, im switching to this style, until i can read plants better and react quicker to problems. Thanks for stopping by. Ill search for your grows, if you have any posted.
