Beginner Grower!

Hello everyone. I new to this site. I ran across it on google and absolutely fell in love with it. I am just starting the process of growing my own plant. I am starting with a few. Two or three. Just in case one doesn't make it. I don't have much of a green thumb. LOL. There is so much information on this site and so many veteran growers out there. I am sure i am going to learn alot. I am welcoming everyone advice and hopefully i can harvest me something good to clam my nerves .

I am waiting for my Strawberry Ice feminized seed to come. But right now I am starting a "any weed" plant (seeds from all the good plants I have smoked.). I'm doing indoor, closet, soil. My very first time. Hopefully it will come out great.

To be honest. I am not sure. Just started germinated my seeds today. I am off to the store tomorrow to buy lighting. All I know is that for each different stage it needs a different light spectrum and on time. What lights are the best?

Well i built a box for veg and clones out of an old 80s tv cabinet! Ive got 5 clamp lights w/out shades on them with Y spliters on them with 2 bulbs in each on. I use cfls to veg first stage! 100w spiral(23w) 1600 lumens each bulb! So 16000 lumens in my box! I vent an exhaust to remove heat from cabinet! And soft vent for intake! I then veg stage two in my bloombox (walk in closet) with a 400w metal halide! Then flower in same box with 400w super hps and thats about it! Having two seperate areas is key in rotating your stock of plants and makes for many a harvests!

Check out several different journals, the answer to your question is not that easy to give.

How much room/height do you have, what is your budget, do you have a way to cool/vent your closet, what are the dimensions of your grow, are you soil or hydro.....?

A lot of variables to consider. If heat is an issue and you can't afford to use an A/C unit then that is a decision point. If your budget only allows for $400 for lighting--another decision point.

hmmm.. Good Advice. I didn't think about two different stocks of plants for rotation. Great idea!! I was wondering how I was going to manage waiting for the buds to grow back after harvest.
