Becca's B+, Blue Meanie, Purple Mystic From Spore Genetics & Blue Yeti LC Fun Run

I’m
I think I've got enough for several years now, @CaptainLucky!

Another interesting thing- the B+ smelled AWEFUL while it was drying, like a stale kitchen sponge or something. I'm thinking substrate since this batch has composted manure in it. They also taste worse. May have to try a run with B+ in plain CVG substrate to compare. If it's substrate, the BMC will probably stink, too, while drying.

Also, when I harvested the B+, I collected a dozen or so tiny shrooms that were on the trim, the largest maybe an 1/8" diameter x 1/4" long, and munched down right after getting them ready to dry.

I really didn't expect to feel much because it was such a small amount, a gram wet maybe, but I got pretty high. Because of that I think a half gram starter dose of the dry shrooms sounds about right.

Here's the BMC this morning. Surprised there are no open veils yet.

not sure if the growing medium has anything to do with the taste. But anything is possible. A gram wet is a micro dose so if you’re getting a good buzz from it then they must be some fire 🔥 mushies 🍄. CL🍀

Everything is moved into the SAB. I sprayed the inside down again with 70% iso and sprayed the FAE filters with 3% Hydrogen Peroxide. I have to say, these UB rice bags are a PITA and practically an open invitation to contamination. Very difficult to make the holes and a pain to get the filter tape sterile. That said, I might as well use up the bags I bought.
Moved the autoclaved liquid culture jars in after hosing them with 3% peroxide so my permanent marker labels don't dissolve and run.
Speaking of dissolving and running, @Spore Genetics really needs to find a better way to label their syringes. First, the paper labels don't sterilize well with alcohol or H2O2, and alcohol has this "OH NO!" effect on them:

Fortunately, it wasn't a complete disaster- I could still make out 2 of the labels and so marked them with initials of the variety with a permanent ink marker. Bare paper labels are NOT a good idea. I thought I was going to be shooting blind!
So here's the loaded up SAB. I couldn't help but get a LITTLE ambitious, lol! Now I'm just waiting and watching the hygrometer and will inoculate as soon as the alcohol clears out.

Curious do you ever get to feeling all Dexter's Laboratory? 💚😇

What I’m really wanting to try is the spirit molecule. I watched several videos on extracting root bark. Now I just have to find the best distributor. Should be a very interesting 🤔 time. lol 😂 CL🍀

Before I made the spore prints yesterday, I googled the topic and found a great article at the website of the North American Mycological Association. It's been over 40 years since I last made one, so I thought I'd do a refresher.

I kept all the little bottom chunks of mycelium I cut off the stems of the BMC, threw them in a plastic tub, misted them and covered them. I think I'm going to go walkabout and "seed" the neighborhood lawns and creek. When I lived in Washington state many, many years ago, I seeded the lawn of my parents home with Liberty Caps. Months later I found a shimmery blue mycelial mat growing there. I bet they are still growing there today!
That's an amazing idea 💚!! I've got wild mushrooms growing crazy in my yard. I just don't know enough about them so I leave them be. However, if I spread my own spores around where the other mushroom grow, I could grow my own Wild shrooms! OMG you just made my day better. 😇

(Hand raised) do the mushrooms have to be dehydrated before you can eat them? Or are they just as, or more potent when wet compared to dry? I know that the drying out parts important so they don't rot. I actually got wet rotten shrooms my 2nd time doing them, and they had maggots in them when broke open. I talked the group into eating the maggots too because they were eating the mushies too...we ate that bag of rotten maggot shrooms and no one tripped..they didn't trust me much after convincing them to eat bugs.lol

We all had a good gagging and some laughs. 😇💚

I would love ❤️ to hear that conversation about talking someone into eating maggots. You might want to consider an occupation in sales. lol 😂 CL🍀

@JiggiLotus They are ok to eat fresh, like within a few hours of picking and when from a known, trusted source, just like button mushrooms from the grocery store.

Shrooms are most potent right after picking because none of the psilocybin has had time to break down yet. They'll start decomposing almost immediately if they aren't dryed or refrigerated.

When I seeded my folks lawn I just dropped a couple fresh mushroom caps into the grass on the shadiest side of the house and left for nature to take it's course. Mind you, that was Psilocybe Semilanceata, a variety that grows in grassy fields in the Pacific Northwest.

I wonder if the low and slow fridge drying method would be good for preserving potency?

Harvest time again already. The veils on the BMC were just beginning to open this morning so I've been able to get better timing this batch and collect them just before or after. Making spore prints and saving the minis for a special trip.

I also checked the B+ cake today. It has soaked up the 125mL aqua it received and looks ready to uncover again Saturday or Sunday.

Thanks:Namaste:, @Ramblinrose1965. The 🍄 grow went really well this time. Looks like it's going to be around 30g dry and very potent 🔥 .

The B+ aborts are apparently the flesh of the god's Gods as well, @CaptainLucky I got fried on just a little.
 🔥 🍄 🔥

The talley is in for the Blue Meanie Cubes and I was amazed to see the dry weight (including the Nibble-n-Bits) at exactly 28.33g... almost exactly 1 ounce!

I've now made 3 spore prints from the largest cap and this is the 4th, so carefully putting drops of water on the caps really does work.

I was pleasantly surprised by aborts of the Purple Mystics. I remember thinking 🤔 that something fishy was happening when I got up for something and the floor had a very spongy feeling that it never had before. It only got better after that. lol 😂 CL🍀

Thanks, CL! It will be interesting to see what the 113mg of BMC does. I think I'm going to grind it with a mortar & pestle and put it in gelatin capsule.

Forgot to mention earlier- the BMC test bag is fruiting. Not a big flush but I'll get some more shrooms from it.

The Blue Yeti AIO bag was ready to mix last night and was very rhizomorphic all around, so I squish-n-smashed the big solid chunk of mycelium and mixed it all throughout. This morning I can see condensation all around the sides of the bag at the bottom so it's really taking off.
