Beaumont police confiscated 350 marijuana plants at a home in the 100 block of Cold Springs Avenue on New Year's Day. The pot plants were estimated to have a street value of $1 million.
The police responded to a call about suspicious circumstances at the home about 3 a.m. The front door of the residence was open and lights were on, but no one was home when the police arrived.
The police secured the home and came back with a search warrant about 10 a.m. No one was home for the second visit as the police seized the marijuana plants and about $100,000 in growing equipment.
No arrests were made when police shut down the illicit growing operation according to a Beaumont press release. The incident is currently under investigation by the Allied Riverside Cities Narcotics Enforcement Team (ARCNET).
