BearY's First Widow

Well this is my first time growing. I have been purchasing for almost ten years now and growing has always been on my mind. Now that i'm settled and married i have plenty of time on my hands during the winter. Honestly, growing has become a stress reliever for me since work takes a lot out of me. Plus my wife has lupus and she does not have her card. When she is having a flare and takes a few hits....its amazing the immediate relief she gets. So all in all, I am taking things into my own hands and have purchased female White Widows. I have been learning a lot by reading every ones post on this website. Fuck it! Why not start my own thread. I love learning and weed is the future...we all have known this. Anyways....i am starting this thread 7 days in. I germinated 3 seeds by leaving them in a cup of room temp ice mountain water. #1 sunk with in an hour and #2 & #3 sank in 12 hours. After 18hrs I poured them out onto a dish with a piece of paper towel. Fold the paper and put the dish in my master shower room. (No one uses this room)
#1 - came out with in 12 hours
#2 - came out with in 16hrs
#3 - came with in 24hrs
When I say came out, I'm saying that the tap root grow over a 1/2".
Products I am using is Fox Farm Ocean frost with Big Bloom and the other two that go with it. I also got the sledge hammer.
I took a bag of Ocean frost and mixed a quarter to half bag of organic medium together.
Planted each seed in its own 7" tall pot and put them in to our master shower room. I put up reflecting paper on the walls and as a shower curtain. I put them under some CFL bulbs for 3 days.

After 3 days #1 and #2 have sprouted and #3 has but the seed shell is still on the sprout. I took some tweezers and removed the seed. After 12 hours of light the plant recovered with no deformities.

After reading more online, I decided to switch to, 2 600w reflector series full spectrum lights. Got them the next day and put them up. I built a custom wood framing system for my peace of mind. This way I know the lights wont fall, I can adjust the light height easily, and I decided to build an attachable SCROG screen (when its time of course). I have been giving them a 20/4 light cycle.
. As for watering I am just giving them water at a pH level of 6.24. Only time I give them water is when the soil is dry 2-3" down. I let them get really dry one time so the roots can try to spread more and at this point I gave them a feeding of big bloom but only a quarter strength though. Next day soil was real wet when lights went back on. After 10 hrs the leaves were pointing up and striving for the light. They loved the feeding. The light instructions said to use the bloom mode for seedlings but after asking around on here, I heard to use both veg and bloom mode for seedlings.

That brings us to right now. I have given them 20 hrs of both veg and bloom light. It looks like they wanted it because the growth has speed up. #3 stock has a little lean so I gave it some support with flower wirer.

Ok so i need help. After adding more soil around the stem and watering them with 6.8ph water. This morning they were fine. Lights out for 5 hours and lights back on at 630pm.
It is 8pm now and this is what they look like. Leaves alittle droopy and tips curling up a little.

My bad. Here you go. The lights at 24" from the canopy. I have two 600w reflector series on with both veg and bloom mode on together. Once I get to Veg i will switch to just Veg mode (blue light). The second picture is the one with the white center vein. Also the newer leaves are dropping down a little.

They look great

I'd keep all the switches on, mo light...mo betta
I've always ran mine on as long as the heat was ok, but I live on the surface of the sun so heat can be an issue for me

Get the pH down a bit, and watch the watering, one of the tuffest thing to master in soil

Help! let me know if this is normal... just saw that the leaves were starting to curl and twist almost and pointing down so I assumed lake of cal and mag so I water them with 2mL of CalMag in a gallon of water pH at 6.5. They seemed dry was well. kGave Them enough water to have run off. First time giving them this. I tested the run off and this is what came up...ppm ranged for two palnts 1450-1600 with pH at 5.5....? help PLEEASE!

Sounds like hydro ph 5.5-5.8 I don’t grow in soil , l’m learning from your experience with it . I also seedling to veg to bloom with leds. Turn the led down to 50% and work my way up to 100% by flower . Most of the spring water you buy is 6.3 ph @ tds of 30ppm excellent flush I’ve seen for soil.
Isn’t it 1/4% nutrients for soil as it is with hydro?

The flush went very well. The girls are look great today. The curling has actually gone down and canopy is starting to lift. Ill post pictures later.

I do want to ask....is my two 600w reflector series too much light for a 3.5x4 area??? Not just one but two. I have the both lights 24" away from the canopy.

I wouldn’t think so , I was running a supposedly running a 1200watt led on my seedlings and clones, when checked at 47” it had a par of less than 7,000 . Saw this 300watt led and it had 18,000 lux at 47” unbelievable .
