Ballast & bulb combo question

High all!

I have a question regarding a Nanolux 1000 watt dimmable electronic ballast. I bought it off a bud and it is still fairly new, only used for one grow. My question is that he included two 600 watt HPS & MH bulbs, (they still work), in the package and was wondering if it was wise to continue to use them with that ballast? I've spent a few hours looking online trying to find an answer and haven't had any luck so I figured it'd be best to ask here. I've grown before but that was only with CFL's, this is a considerable step up more or less. One thought that ran through my head was to use the lights that came with the package and set the ballast at 75% but I am not sure. Any advice would be greatly appreciated from you.

Yea if you dim you ballast you could run lower watteg bulbs but its not the best thing to do for your gear best to run it 100% and use a 1000 watt bulb... Dimming a bulb will wear more on the bulb/ballast.

Dim the ballast and run the 600s until you can grab a 1000w bulb. Be sure to turn the ballast down and check to see that your electrical cord does not get hot. Good advise on a journal. Looking FWD to your success.

Sounds like a plan. One last question though, since it is suggested to turn down the ballast, which would be best, 50% or 75%?

I wouldn't over load the bulbs rated wattage. You might end up bulbless and forking out for the 1000w bulb earlier than expected..... (50%)
