Bagseed. Indoors.

Howdy,

Been lurking and gathering intel on the site for a while. This isn't my first grow, had others documented on some ancient now government controlled forums... hopefully I don't bring the luck here!

My materials for this grow will be somewhat limited, mostly by space. I had originally planned to grow 4-5 plants in hopes of obtaining at least 2 females, but now I'm down to 3....

It is a soil grow, using a 400W MH light and probly some floros for good measure. I haven't decided yet, but I might do an MH flower just to see what happens, in the name of science. I've done HPS in the past, would like to see for myself if it really is 'all that'. I know it'll be hard to tell by comparing different strains, but I guess I'm not that dedicated.

As it is now, my seedlings have just been transplanted from the shitty dollar store plastic cups into some pots I had... I think they're about 2-2.5L pots... can't really remember. Anyway, big enough to sustain veg growth as I only intend on letting them get a foot high or so before I flower. I also recently turned on my MH (hanging about 2ft over the tips of the seedlings). Growth has been stunted due to shock, which was expected, however I also expect they will pick up quickly. They have a fan blowing on them, temperatures are quite comfortable.

I'm going to water soon, will snap a few pics too! They'll be up soon. Don't let the bagseed fool you, this will be frosty I promise.

Hey, bagseed is great. There's always a surprise in the pot! I prefer to grow bagseed. Of course this is after I wasted money buying seeds, and realized I could do better with "free seeds". Sounds great. Looking forward to your grow.

Heyy, thanks for stopping in!

Apologies for the lateness of the pictures, I was occupied with some videogame related matters for a good part of the day.... anyway here we go:

A different plant:

And the runt (well last to pop, just smaller for now):

Now one altogether:

I have this temporarily setup in my closet, but I plan on getting one of those hydrohuts or whatever they're called... the one I'm looking at is like 3.5X2.5X7 feet. Not much to look at just yet, but I think there is already noticeable growth in the growing tips since last time I looked. I'm thinking the shock is wearing off and they're ready to go!

Ahhh man just noticed how small I made these pics... and I haven't even smoked yet! Oh well, forgiveness please. Next batch will be better.

Edit: Matter of fact, they aren't too small I just put in the URL for the thumbnails. The actual pics are in my gallary but I think they are too big lol. I think my photography game needs some work.

Just checked in on the room this morning, looking good. Going to wait until the end of the day to take pics.

Noticed something, the leaf produced from after these plants went under the MH looks waay more intricate and detailed than the relatively simple leaf produced under the cfls. These babies were baaathed in cfls just inches from the tips. Now they have one 400W MH 2ft away, and the leaf production is visibly much better. I'm sure the transplant helped that along too, but still something to consider if you're trying to decide between cfls of HID lighting. Just make sure you have the ventilation if you go HID! Learned that the hard way lol.

Here are a few pictures I took today. The plants still seem to be adjusting to their new light and pots. There is some minor curling of some of the blades, which I attribute to stress for now, however beginning to think they are asking for some nutes. My plan is to give it another day, but if they start getting worse I'll give them some food. You can see what I mean below. What do you think?

They still look healthy overall IMO. Also beginning to smell citrusy already!

oh how cute they are when they're babies!! can't wait to see them grow into beautiful ladies. good luck man, i'll be tuning in. i'm on my second soil grow now, so feel free to throw out some questions i might be able to help some.

its fun, im no expert though, but every suggestion or tip helps. one thing to start doing is writing down everything that you do. i'm sure you thought of that already, but it will really help you remember what you did from grow to grow.

i'm on my second soil grow now, and you wouldn't believe all the different things from the first grow that i remember to do the same or do differently this time.

It is fun that's for sure.

I have some experience, but I've always been growing with other people, this is my first solo project.

I'm pretty sure the bending up and down in the margins has to do with the temperature. Its too cold in the room even with the MH. I've lowered the light a little to try and help, but I realize that is also a dangerous game to play. They still seem healthy, just a little slow and short cause of the temperature. The light is doing its job though, signs of internodal branching already.. only on its second set of leaves! I'll try to get some pics of it up today or tomorow.

In the meantime lets all pray to the Canadian God of Winter (Don Cherry) for a bountiful harvest.

nice gro NGOS. me im a newbie just started 30 plants 2 weeks ago down to 26 and im hoping the 3 that i lost were male lol. i will post tpics up this week for they have grown nicely.

Hey Shab, GL with your grow too, can't wait to see.

Here's some pics from today. Still being slowed by the cold I think, but hey at least they're staying short.

These two are different plants, starting to suspect the same strain!

Any thoughts on when to add ferts? Its a pure organic soil with no time release nutes or anything. Comments or concerns? All are welcome.

i don't know if you've chosen nutes yet, but fox farms are highly recommended and you can get a feeding schedule off of their website. they have a 3-pack of nutes that are good for all the stages of growth. it comes with grow big, tiger bloom, and big bloom, and a lot of people use them with good results. i think they are considered organic too so you could keep that whole thing going and get yourself some tasty buds in the end!!

Yeah FF sounds great, and is definitely where I'm heading after I run out of what I have now, but I do have some Dutch Nutrient Formula that will last for the rest of this grow I want to use up first.

my next grow is going to be all organic. have you seen any good threads or other links to good organic growing techniques? i wish they had a section totally devoted to organics.

Oh boy, here we go with the Fox Farm's organic question again, Ms.Fox. :grinjoint:

my next grow is going to be all organic. have you seen any good threads or other links to good organic growing techniques? i wish they had a section totally devoted to organics.

Yeah, that would be a good idea. Maybe just a thread devoted organic nutes would be a good place to start. I've been doing some research on organics and would like to move in that direction, or at least, have that option. Fox Farm's Grow Big and Tiger Bloom are "organic based", which means they contain chemical nutes. Their Big Bloom is all organic. I use 'em and they work very well. GB & TB can really lower your PH so you'll have to deal with that.

Some of the more experienced growers here have recommended "Age Old" products (Age Old Organic Nutrients for hydroponic and soil applications), which I hope to soon incorporate into my grows.

You babies look green and healthy. Looks like you're right on track!!

:peace:
