I've been helping a new friend at his garden and home in California. He has been using the same potting soil for 5 years. He has a wonderful yard full of plants. We cloned some plants and re-potted some tomatoes. Nothing is growing correctly in that soil. He used that same brand for 5 years but the company lately has expanded to new nursery outlets.
To get the tomatoes he gave me to grow I had to drench them in compost and worm tea daily for several weeks. Compared to the Ocean Forest potting soil his potting soil is dead, like they forgot to put beneficial bacteria or has some herbicide residue.
Advice? The Cannabis plants at his home are not growing at all since they were re-potted with the new bag of his soil.
