Bad pot size to plant size ratio

I've got a plant that has been budding for a while now, and it's about 4 1/2 feet tall. The pot size holds about 3 gallons of soil. I haven't seen roots growing out of the bottom holes but I'm worried that it might get root bound or something. To transplant it now would be a hell of a lot of work, I'd basically have to re-arrange my whole grow room to do it. What should I do?

you have to give: 1 Gallon to every 1 Foot...so you may need to but frist what week are you into flowering? then i can tell if you need to transplant.

being as how I'm not growing with HPS (yet) there's no set time for how long it will take, but in my opinion I'd say it's got at least a few weeks left. I think I may have to get to work tomarrow. Damn, I don't know still, to take my plant out along would require so much work but to have to raise the lights again and rearrange everything.

Sounds more like a case of poor genetics to me. Was it bag seed?
