Hey y'all. It's 'the fridge box guy' haha. The box is going strong after a year of use and no end in sight. I have 3 Masters Mistress in there now, hopefully will get a female and start cloning.

Sprouted Jan 18, in Sunshine Mix 4 and are getting Remo nutes (supercharged kit). They got a bit rootbound in solo cups and transplanted into 1gal pots (approx.).

Today they still haven't shown sex and are looking rootbound again. I will transplant into slightly bigger pots tomorrow. Pics to come.

Transplanted yesterday (Feb. 28) because they needed a little bit more room for their roots and that got a mild feeding.

The nodes are starting to alternate but still no preflowers. I hope soon because they are packed in there pretty good. Maybe I should have waited to transplant to slow growth, but wouldn't that slow the maturation as well? Either way... The ladies look happy and we will keep on truckin'.

Day 45 from sprout. Fed the plants today. 5 mL of each veg product in the remo line. They are looking happy but still waiting on preflowers.

What is the longest you've waited for preflowers for?

Day 46 and I finally found a preflower. Haha. Only on one of the three though. How do i pick out of the three if they are all female?

The best looking one. Or the one that is responding to you the best. It's the way I would do it. I'm still a noob though. Or inny, minny, miney , moe........ :D

Latest I generally see them is about day 35, more commonly around 30 and as quickly as about 25 days. Best thing I can tell you is to look for alternating nodes. When you see alternating nodes, the plant will be sexually mature and should be throwing out pre-flowers.

Here is what I mean by alternating nodes.

Selecting the best female is subjective. Things to consider are structure, growth rate, smell, yield, color, potency.

The tough thing is many of those don't show themselves completely until you are done. For example, I intended to breed out my ATF strain. ATF#2 was clearly the better plant in veg....much stronger grower. But when flipping to flower, one of the other ATF females who was smaller, produced 25% more weight than her big sister counterpart. Now I couldn't tell any difference in the smoke and I didn't lab test it for potency so I chose to breed the clone I took from the plant that produced more (I want more bud more than I want a faster growing veg plant). Now if the high from #2 would have been better, I would have considered breeding her out but I chose the yielder.

Really it depends on what you are looking for. Is one really resistant to the environment you grow in and all the dangers you face (Mold, bud rot, pests, etc)? Then you might want to pick that one.

I guess my question is do you have room to run all of them?

Thanks for the insight. I wish I had room to run them all. I will have to go off of structure for now. I am just glad to have a female at this point. Haha.

Yea, they have quite a few that are alternating but still didn't have any preflowers. I'm pretty sure I found one today and am going to wait for it/more to develop.
