Hi everyone
I've started growing auto's outside and I've been hearing conflicting stories on weather to up pot them or not? as I've been told they don't like change.
I've always grown my plants (photoperiod) to the size of the pot before changing to a bigger pot so they get a good root ball should I use the same rules as I normally would or alter them as these auto's only live for 10-11 weeks from seed to harvest any info would be greatly appreciated

Normally I see the ones that do autos go to the final pot at the start !
 
Welcome Mike! I start them in final pots.
 
I have only grown one auto, outside, and from sprouting straight into the final pot, which is standard advice.
I LST'd my auto and noticed that in doing so the plant turned out to be 2 weeks slower reaching the same flowering state as a growing friend's auto which he final potted as a sprout the same day as me from the same batch of seeds. So I feel the advice to final pot makes sense if the plant were to stall. However my plant ended up given 25% more than his and went close to a couple of weeks longer too, for 111 days, so perhaps it didn't so much as stall but developed more before full flowering, who knows, but I would agree about starting on final pots for autos.

When i needed to choose the size of the pots i've checked some autoflower forum and they suggested to use 3 gallons and infact the plants did good but i guess a bigger pot would be helpful so i went with 4 which i hope Is the sweet spot
