Autoflower Myth Busting Thread

Myth #1.... autoflowers are small and seriously lack in trichcome production....

Myth#1...... DISPELLED

Had to laugh when I read this. My first grow, what drew the crowd of serious growers like Graytail and Dic Bud was the way I used that soil and those CFLs to make those autos grow into monster bushes covered with so much frosting that they were amazed. It was my first grow. I thought that's the way things were supposed to be. :laughtwo: Turns out I was right, and here we are today, continuing to blast those myths out of the water.

My outdoor think different's were above 5 feet tall. One yielded 5.5oz dry and the other 6.5oz dry.

I am getting Mazar tested for thc, cbd, mold, etc, so stay tuned for the results to dispell the myth of low THC.

I had Think Different (indoors) tested. It was 19.6% thc and 3%cbd, I think. Or maybe .3%. Either way the dispensary loved it and had no idea it was an auto because I didn't tell them. Haha.

I'm running some various autos right now in Doc's kit, have eight or so going working on finishing out my seeds from last year. Soon, I'll be ordering beans for this year and that, Think Different is one I'm considering. Have been looking at that strain for a while and have read good stuff from members here.

I've yet to lab test an auto, although I have some curing or left over from the spring that I could drop off, but, I think I'll just wait till I start harvesting this group I'm running.

Good info on the think different, thanks for sharing. :Namaste:

Day 8 from first planting the little bean.

Sweet seeds has a group of seeds called the red family have a look they're all nice and fruity and the colors are all "non temps sensitive" all autos well I had one that was a green phenotype but still a gorgeous plant. My new blackberry by fast buds is already starting to turn purple and she's only 4 weeks old had a few weeks of horrible weather at the start.... Next will be indoors tho and she'll get some great color as well I hope. There's plenty of Autos will red/purple all colors of phenotypes lots of different flavors and tastes. Can't post the link here but a quick search for the red family by sweet seeds and you won't be disappointed

Thanks for the info. The only real purple I have achieved in the past was because of colder temps outside. LOL

The LED lighting adds to the purple, but the natural colors are purple & black, with fans turning gold (not N deficienct)...

These are Black Domina autos.

Interesting. Sugar Black Rose, one of my summer favorites and biggest yielder had Black Domina for a mother, a reg not auto, but I was thinking of growing that since I was so impressed with the SBR.

First time with that strain?

Hey peeps for using this thread for other purposes but don't have enough post to i.m. Members yet... Atrain u rec. pro mix with myc. For growing in? Found a deal on it? Wanted to know before purchased? Any body else have recommendations for soil finishing media? Also use straight pro mix? Perlite? Clay? Vermiculite? I'm sure everyone has there own special mix and definitely there own blend!! Of course I ordered my seeds 18 days ago and they said up to 21? So I dunno prob back to ordering waiting praying the law and the postmaster doesn't want my autos more then me.... :wood::wood. Any way your thoughts and thanks

Not sure about everyone else but I use BioBizz Light mix and sometimes all mix but I've heard the all mix is to rich for seedlings so i i go light mix where i put the seedling in the the rest of the pot all mix

Why didn't I think of that? LOL
I have two separate home soil mixes here, one for seedlings and one for final potting up. I've been concerned about putting that seed directly into the "adult" soil for fear of it being too rich for it.
I'm going to follow the suggestions of creating an area in the center with seedling soil to drop that seed into.

:thanks: Spart and the rest of you guys!

I use it as a kinda buffer zone so when the root system is strong enough and the plant is hearty enough to take the higher richer soil its there for them. Could probably get away with just using stimulates and a bit of a cal/mag (alg-a-mic for biobizz). I use a liter pot give her about a week in it and then get her in the all mix. I don't see why it wouldn't work with any other soil as well say the Plagron bat mix or royal mix.

What up red dog.... welcome to 420 brotha... Ok so here's the deal on soil for. Me... I feed the advances nutrient line... I feed at a rate that most say is quite agreeive... but my plants show the results ;) but for my feeding and the nutrients that I run I like to know exactly what they are getting and exactly how much..... so that leads me to pro mix... it's a very light soiless mix with little to no nutes and works well for the way I grow... bio bizz light mix would be about the same it's little starter nutes and that's it... plagron light mix in the u.k is the same... if not for these I would run coco... good luck on getting your seeds man

Think my WW auto that's still going is in all-mix and she seems to like it....might not be very big but that's cos it got munched by slugs and was out in cold and wet conditions.

Reason I went with high EC soil was because it was going to be a guerrilla grow fed mainly by rain but I brought her home rather than let her go to waste.....will try for a new pic later when lights come on and I've been fed.

This one was started back at the end of May and this is what she looked like in August:

And she's still got weeks to go I reckon! 150+ days already on a strain that was supposed to have a flowering time of 7 weeks so long as the temperature stayed above 10C

Really glad I brought this one back indoors when I did.....

She seems to be loving life under a 600W HPS on 12/12 and coming from outdoors she's tough as old boots. Few wee flying things and other beasties in the soil but that seems par for the course with soil anyway and they don't seem to bother my hydro girls so I'll just leave the beasties alone. I'm much more inclined to point a macro lens at them than cover weed I want to smoke in pesticides ;)

That plant is going to be massive

Looking at my notes from my other grow of this strain and phenotype, she produced;

1534g wet bud
91g fan leaves
26g bud leaf trimmings
323g(11.5zips) jarred bud

And she was only 37" !! With that in mind **IF** this one follows suit, I expect to join the One Pounder Club. :wood:

I'll be watching you do this. It's something I've considered all along, but, for whatever reason, never tried. It sounds like such a sensible thing to do, especially when you work with autos.
