Are they too deep?

I planted two seeds on wednesday...about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch.....i think they may have been too deep...will they germinate?? 1/4" to 1/2" is ideal...i know....

I gather that you did not germinate before hand?

Nope....just popped em in.

It is a good idea to germinate beforehand. This will allow the seed to sprout and you then plant the sprout. You can expect it to take up to a week to a week and a half for something to emerge from the soil without germinating, and the problem is you now want to know if the seeds are even viable, so your wanting to dig them up to take a peek. Viability would have been obvious if you had germinated them first.

Also, I think you planted them too deeply. You want them right below the surface of the soil. In additon, keep the soil moist.

wow what i do is jsut put the seeds in so i can just see the top but i guess ur methoud worked too

Yeah seemed to have worked just fine....i wont put them in so deep next time anyhow..but it worked.
