Are my buds immature?

So im about 8 weeks into flowering my white widows, 4 plants under a 600w hps. There are 3 plants where the buds look good to go, but 1 plant that has alot less, but bigger buds. These buds I am unsure about, I have a 60x jewlers loop and I've had a look at the buds, i struggle to identify the trichomes but I'm sure all of the buds are showing about 30-40% amber trichs

Here are some pictures, im sure u can tell the difference between the mature and bigger buds, theres only 2-3 pics of the mature looking buds, rest are of the 8"s :p

Real hard to see them with the HPS lights making jail bars in yer pics

30-40% Amber tric's seems a stretch considering what looks like lots of white hairs

Don't check tric's on sugar leaves they degrade much faster

I agree on that 30 to 40 % amber is to much. I would harvest all of them now. Good chance the one that is later might be just right to harvest.

Either way. The plants are starting to eat themselves up. You can't add anything to make them better with out screwing them up. You don't want that brown to reach your buds. As the leaf dies so so the trichomes. Looks like your at the end of this grow.

Yeah it seems like way too many white pistils to me, for 40% amber trichomes to make sense. Maybe some have died for other reasons. The plants look very nutrient burned.

I’d leave them another week or more on a very light feeding or water-only.

the reasons the leaves are so yellow is because i suffered some light burn when i missed a water cycle a few weeks back, i trimmed off all the dead leafs and then the sugar leafs started to take a beating

i snipped one of the more mature smaller buds off and the trichomes are looking more like 20% clear 20% amber 60% cloudy

to be honest ive never grown the white widow but the formation of the bud dnt look to gd and u got some damage going on which dont help, id chop them make the most of what u got and start again the leaf damage aint gona get any better in my opinion, u need to treat them like ur kids and dnt forget to feed them :thumb:

Here are some better pictures guys, im still sure that half the buds are ready and the other half (the bigger ones) are immature, im a terrible judge of trichomes, the buds arn't actually that deformed lol, just a few from falling over and growing weirdly, the yellow'ing is from earlier light burn and yeah, they have been growing strong and healthy, im just unsure about the pull ( im day 5 into flush)

As you can see in 2 of the pictures 2 buds look clearly ready, there are 2 bigger buds that still have a lot of long straight hairs, and white hairs, is this due to immaturity or the size of the bud?

Want to save your self the guessing game get a 100x usb microscope off the big A for 30 bucks , i take a small sample of a lower bud , just cut a piece off and put it under the microscope it will give you a lot better picture of what the trichomes are doing , plus you can save the pics to your laptop ,tablet or phone for future reference 30 % amber trichomes on a lower bud is chop time i find .but that is just my preference as i use it to help me sleep with the neuropathy in my feet , 20 % if you want a bit more of a up lifting bzzzzzz

yeh unfortunately my 90x didn't come in the mail in time and i've had to re-purchase, now it wont be here until the 2nd =\

As for those plants i would chop it is way beyond producing any more good quality thc , there are no leaves to do so , it may be a combination of light burn and nute burn i think , and i am leaning towards nute burn and too high of temperature and low humidity , your burn is from the tips inward on the leaves , light usually causes the leaves to taco 1st then burn from the outside edges in , i have grown white widow many time from cks and they were never that yellow at chop time

the plants took a hit half way through flowering and lost 1/2 of their leaves, after that I believe the buds sucked nutes from the sugar leaves. I don't believe theres any nute burn, tds runoff was around 7-800.

Im really worried about pulling those big buds, so many large white hairs

Yes the plant may still need time. Thing is it is not healthy enough to get there. You can't make it healthy without screwing up the end product. You are now probably loosing more THC per day than you are making. Time to cut your losses if there any and harvest them.

I have been where you are before. I have stopped feeding plants to early and didn't leave them enough nuits to finish flowering. It sucks but happens. Something to keep in mind next time.

That's my take on it. Others may see it differently.

20% clear 20% amber 60% cloudy

No offense

But no way they are 20% clear and 20% Amber
Yer looking at sugar leaves, cwekk ones that aren't burnt up anyways

Lots of white hairs, I'd say two weeks to go, still hard in the HPS lights, but guess you won't fix that

So

Good luck

So guys, I had better look at the more mature buds, I'm probabably seeing a 20% clear 70% cloudy 10% amber, the more immature buds, I'm struggling to make out.

I have some better pictures out of the HPS light, I ended up pulling all the mature looking buds, while leaving the bigger, immature buds, hoping I can get something more out of them.

Heres some pictures of mature/immature looking buds outside hps with/without flash

edit: are the hairs long and stringy looking due to the size of the bud (it the size of a 700ml whiskey bottle) or due to needing more maturing?
