Anyone use a Fan Speed Controller as a Light Dimmer Switch ?

I was doing a search for an external 1000 watt Light Dimmer Switch & I came across this ad.

Says you can use the fan speed controller as a dimmer. The reviews on it says it only dims down to about 25%; but who needs to go any lower then that ... right? Haven't tried it yet but will some time today. This will be a great cheap way to add a dimmer to any light if it works.

Small for 5 weeks & already pre-flowering... damned Auto's. Probably only get an oz. off each one. Sure hope it's bomb. Got 3 more started in soil though.

What size pots? Good I'm glad you popped 3 more. Are those autos too? If so put them right into final pot I do 5 gallons. I just have a Cream soaking in water now. Hoping by the time my Lowryders are done I can put it out with the others
