Ants?

im finding small black ants like to go into the soil in the pot that my plant is in. Could ants by any chance cause harm to my plant? If so, is there anything that i can do to kill them? ie. drowning them or watever but right now i got no insect repelent and i wanna get rid of them asap.

You should get some tanglefoot for around the base of the stem, its organic and will stop them from climbing up the plant.

thanks for all your help hightide but i won't be needing them anymore. some dickwad decided to pull my plants and now I have no idea where they are. I've given up on growing.. atleast for now.. put 100 dollars into seeds and got 0 from the outcome.. fucked up
