Almost ready?

Hey there,

This is my first grow, live in eastern Ontario. I have two plants;707 headband and SFV.

I’m wondering if it’s close to harvest?

I’m not in the best location to grow outdoors and my neighbour has two plants on the other side of the fence so the smell is very noticeable. I just want to make sure I harvest it before someone else thinks they can snatch it on me.

They are nice heavy buds. I grew two plants under a scrog to try and keep it bushy and lower than the fence. Next year I’ll be making another scrog to have more room. I ran out of room to tuck before they even started flowering. So I have some branches that are so heavy they are bending over constantly.

Anyways, let me know if you think it’s almost time! Or what I should be looking for to know? I don’t have a loop but took a decent picture on my phones magnifier. It’s hard to tell exactly what the colour of the trichomes are.

Thanks in advance.

They don’t look to be producing new pistols and the trics are cloudy from what I see in the pics.
Cloudy will give you a more energetic high, and if you let them go 10-20% amber, you’ll have more relaxed high.
Very nice plants my friends. I’d recommend getting a magnifying glass (I find the loupe too small) and base it of the high you want.
Its up to you on the risk though.
Have you researched Bud washing?

I got similar issues , to let it keep going or start chopping. I may stop watering Thursday and cut them down Sunday. I tend to wait for senior growers to give input thus I am a new grower and new to outdoor growing as well. Best of luck to you. Got some real monsters there.

Why would you stop watering?
Seizing watering/feeding is old logic. People do flush if there’s salt buildup, but growers now know that starving your plants towards the end of the cycle is counterproductive.
@Emilya and @InTheShed are who presented this information to me, so maybe they can elaborate.

Not watering and giving plain water would be two different things.

There is evidence that putting a plant through drought about 10 days before expected harvest (and then watering again) can increase trichome production, though this process only works with certain plants in certain media. It doesn't work for my grows as the plants fade much too quickly. Big pots of soil seem to be key here.

I am of the understanding that harvesting a plant that is in drought makes for an uneven drying process. I'd water it when it's thirsty, and harvest when it's done.

When I water now the plants act lime they hate it, leaves burning and canoeing or curling. Last time I fed was 2 weeks ago and been on just fresh water just not usingvas much plant dont want it.
