All The Gear No Idea: My First Ever Grow!

Hi all. This will be my first attempt and growing my own product. After looking making vape fluid and the amount for product needed and the cost involved it was a kinda no brainer.

I also broke my wrist in a cycle accident 2 years ago and suffer regular with my job and wanted to maybe produce some CBD oil vape liquid but not looked into the science yet so this is a maybe haha.

Anyway on to my space. After recently buying my own house and my brother who is a grower himself walking into every room, loft and garage saying fit a tent in here lad I landed on the loft. It's not a big space but enough. Went for a Mars hydro 70x70x160 with a eco 245w led light.

I ordered a few other essential item like humidity tracker, carbon filter and pots I spent this evening putting it all together.

I don't have electricity up there yet but it's been fitted on Friday so I have till then to get ready for putting a seed or clone in soil. I have a few free seeds coming soon to get my first go out the way.

I'm not going to lie I know how to grow but it's something I have always wanted to try so I'm sure I will make some mistakes along the way but as long as I learn by them hopefully I will grow some kick arse plants one day.

I have had a trail run with and extension lead and looks good so far I think

So yeah that's where I am at. Hopefully I ready to go once my power shows up. I already have
Advance nutrients grow bloom micro for my feed so will need a few bits for measuring them but it's a starting point.

Any feedback or advise on the path I'm going down will be much appreciated.

When making your album you left the default setting of "album owner only". You may be able to change it, but you may have to make a new folder with the setting "members only". The admins are working on this, but haven't gotten it fixed yet.

You only have about 7 hours to change it (420 minutes).

Sorry for the bad news. You can see the pictures, but we can't. :(

I know what I have done.... I'll change it now or try anyway :rollit:

I can not find anywhere how to change the privacy settings on the current album I uploaded, I have added the media again into a public album but have no idea how to edit the thread to change the album source, here is the link to the photos I added, if this isn't in line with posting guidelines my current set of skills only allows me to delete this thread and start again lol.

We can see all those pictures, and you can put those in individually too.

That will work.

The next thread you just need to link in your pictures with the gallery embed feature in the posting box (top row...looks like a camera, but I'm sure you have figured that out).

Can't remove posts or delete threads. Long story on that one.

edit: now we can see the pictures above too.

Just wondering why you even need a tent in that space? Only suggesting because you might be able to grow more plants without the space constraint. in the summer I also imagine it will get hot up there...a tent will hold heat (which works well in winter but not summer). As suggested, fabric pots are easy for growing (if you are using soil).

Otherwise you'll do fine!

does it work well for you, I seen it as a decent starting point

Yeah, it is a decent tent, but you will want a bigger one about a month into your first grow. We all want bigger, better, and more horsepower. Like Tim Allen growing weed.

I do agree with the size constraint, but with a tent, he can vent in cool air from the house. Also, there is more efficiency with the reflective walls, and easier to control humidity due to the inpermiablilty of the tent. It's a win in an attic, if you do it right. But it's a loose on the amount of space to grow. Compromises everywhere.

Allright, how about we compromise and suggest he goes back and gets a bigger tent? :)

I think for a "first time" grower it would be extremely difficult to dial in his temp and humidity in an attic. The tent would be much easier for his skill set.
